My little rascal muse!
Tuesday, June 7, 2011
So I started a new pet sitting job (yep I also pet sit in addition to my full time job and my crafting hobby!) last weekend and this little guy is just too cute for words! He's got those tried and true shih-tzu puppy dog eyes. So I wanted to share the love with you too!
His name is Miki and he is 10 years old, he rules the roost and knows it, he loves to go on walks and stop and smell the fresh air with his little black nose as high up as he can get it. I'll be watching him until Saturday but I'm sure we will "keep in touch" because he's just too cute not to!

New construction? Maybe...just maybe..
Saturday, June 4, 2011
So my better half and I went house hunting (again) today. We put an offer in on a short sale condo almost 2 months ago but we are waiting deep deep deep in the weeds still. Come 6/12 we will be at our 60 day required wait time to hear from the bank then we are out of the Agreement!
So we trekked around town again today with our agent but this time I really expanded my search area because obviously my very small previous desired area wasn't turning up much of a selection.
Unfortunately, most if not all of our options are short sales or foreclosures, and just not in the best shape considering all of the up front work they would need. This first time home buyer is made of a lot of things but one of them is not money!
So our agent decided to "open the door" to new construction and right now we are running with it. I am cautiously optimistic but we will have more info in the upcoming week. Eeek! (excited/nervous exclamation not a scared one!)
Sorry this wasn't the most entertaining or crafty post in the world but I thought it is at least a relatable one to the masses.
Wish us luck! Here's hoping to good news coming our way (I am looking forward to possibly having my own personal designated art studio...woo hoo!)

So I missed last week...guilty as charged...but I found the cutest short and sweet tutorial.
Here is a inexpensive and super cute DIY Candle Holder! Happy Crafting! :)

d.i.y. candle holder
One of our belt designers, Cristina, has been busy working on some unique home creations. She photographed this D.I.Y. to share with us and we can’t wait to try it out– she says it’s so easy! Since Easter is this weekend, wouldn’t this also be a cute approach to a basket?
Materials:
candle holder with flat sides (any size)
craft adhesive– multi-purpose for wood and glass surfaces
garden pruners
dry tree or shrub branches
Step 1. Wash the candle holder with dish soap and dry well. Cut the branches down to sticks close to the height of the candle holder, it is best to cut a few at a time.
Step 2. Dab the glue on a stick making sure to hit the areas that will be flush to the glass. Place on the glass. You can do a few at a time and then hold until they won’t slide off before you rotate the holder.
Step 3. Repeat until all of the glass has been covered. As always, if using a candle holder do not leave these unattended! Isn’t the end result just magnificent?
Thanks, Cristina. We can just see a whole collection of these illuminating a cozy room!

I was oh so lovingly blessed with a fabulous early birthday gift from my mom and my step dad
Enter the Olympus Pen E-PL1 -
Now, please bear with me, I am a novice when it comes to all this fancy camera stuff but I thought I would share so you can too be a part of my learning journey aka - trial and error!
I have a new tab on my page that is linked to Flickr if you want to give them a look-see.
Here is a little random taste of some of my faves -
Now, I know I love em' but that's because I took them, but I guess that's really all that matters. As long as they make me smile it can't be all that bad!
