Mid-Week Tranquility - Bring on November!!

Hey lovelies! Have you recovered from all the candy?

The treaded tradition of bring all your left over Halloween to the office began yesterday. I swear I didn't eat any...mostly because I had better leftover candy at my house!

So in case I forget come tomorrow. I have to share with you my big after work plans for tomorrow! The other half and I will be going to the fair!

Most importantly (besides the funnel cakes and cotton candy...oh and the ferris wheel) we are going to see Little Big Town who will be the act scheduled to perform tomorrow!
This is as good a time as any to say I love country music!! So needless to say I am very excited about LBT because they are pretty spectacular.

Speaking of music...(I swear I'll get to the mid-week tranquility photo soon)...have you heard the She & Him Christmas album? I ordered it the day it came out and it is amazing! They are such a great musical pairing. <3

Okay okay...here's a little tranquility for you to get lost in...I know I did.

via Pinterest - Have you seen this photo before? I was blown away by it when I first saw it. I don't know where I would start my relaxation...ahhh decisions decisions.

Are there any fairs in your neck of the woods during the Fall season? What's your favorite part of a good fair?

How I spent my Halloween - Meow!

Okay, first of all, this is not an exciting Halloween post. It's an honest one!

I spent Halloween sewing (I'm at my desk in my studio in the photos) and trying to keep the cats paws off of the thread and attempt to keep little BellaTrix aka Trixie from walking across my laptop keyboard.

Yes, I sewed with my "costume" on which by the way was't easy since I wear glasses but I wanted to keep it on so I could run downstairs when the doorbell rang to give out the candy. Out of all the kids costumes I saw, the little bunny, was the cutest. The little girl had her little rosy pink nose which sold the bunny costume for me. Very very cute!

I thought I would use my handy dandy but awful quality camera on my computer so capture a few photos to share with you!

Trixie wouldn't stop getting into my supplies...so she got to be in photos because of her incessant neediness! I <3 that little terror!

Cat "costume" - Walmart

You may or may not be able to tell how short I got my hair cut over the weekend! I always feel so much better after I chop off few inches of hair!

Oh AND if you are a fan of Colleen Houck's books (Tiger's Curse books to be more specific) the third installment of the series came out TODAY!! I ordered Tiger's Voyage on Amazon this morning...I...can't...wait!

So, how was your Halloween?

What I Wore - *Cowboy boots and Tights*

Happy Halloween!!

Whatcha got planned for the day? The other half and I have plans to hand out candy! I'm kinda excited because it'll be the first year where there is potential to have trick or treaters. Apartment complexes aren't known for trick or treating. Now we are in a community with lots of families so we'll see!

I won't be rocking the Pebbles costume though. Too big for me to feel the least bit sassy and cute SO I will be wearing a cat mask and ears! I know...not original...but I do love cats : )

So, I got my hair done on Saturday, but I wasn't able to get any photos of outfits. One because I don't wash my hair after I get my hair done until Monday...and my hair was so not clean...meaning I so cannot take a photo of my grease ball mess of hair! That shall not be documented if I can help it.

But I have some photos of an outfit I wore last week that I haven't shared yet!

I loved that this is called the Annie Oakley dress...it made me feel all tough apparently.

So are you dressing up for Halloween?

Thrifty *Tutorial* Thursday - Halloween Edition Part 3

The countdown is in full force! 11 days to go until Howloween! (Sorry...I couldn't resist)

I'm not sure I still want to be Pebbles though...the costume is so large but I'm afraid if I wash it it'll shrink to a barbie doll size.

On the plus side, I can always go with Minnie Mouse, because I recently got the most divine dress and it is scarily similar to Ms. Minnie's ensemble.
(I'll share that in an upcoming "What I Wore" post...my other half aka photographer wasn't home to take pictures!)

On to the this weeks Halloween DIY find!

Fright on the Fridge -

This has to be one of the THE most simple Halloween DIY projects that I've come across. Not to mention it's incredibly cute and great for kids to do with their parents too! I didn't have time to actually make this before I had to post about it today SO I'll be picking up the supplies after work to spook up my fridge! Head over to Better Homes and Gardens website for the instructions!

Are you ready for Halloween? Did you go all out on decoration or did you keep it simple?

Talk to you soon!

Thrifty *Tutorial* Thursday - Halloween Edition

Tick tock time is ticking away and it'll soon be Halloween!

I received my Pebbles costume in the mail yesterday, sadly it's pretty large, BUT my wig fits and oh my goodness it is too cute. SO...I'll figure something out : )

And look who made themselves comfy in the package my costume came in....Trixie...she is still SO tiny even at 6 months old!
Have you narrowed it down to what you'll be wearing this year?

I came across such a cute and time friendly Halloween craft and thought it would be perfect to share with you guys!

Friendly Ghosts

Pop on over to Country Living to see the slideshow of instructions. There are 4 or 5 slides so not a difficult or super time consuming craft to do. Not to mention...those ghosts are so cute...I mean hauntingly creepy of course :p

Have you made a lot of homemade Halloween crafts this year?

*Make sure to swing by tomorrow for Fabulous Friday Finds AND I have to share with you my new easy on the pocketbook coffee table and where I found the bargain!*

Let's Play Dress Up in Halloween City! *Photo Heavy and a video!*

Well that's what my other half and I did last Saturday evening.

We started out just going to PetsMart to pick up some food for the gremlions but the store that used to be Borders (RIP) had been transformed into Halloween City!

So needless to say I physically dragged my other half into the store just to have a look around, because as you know, Borders stores are not small by any means so I knew it would be packed full of fun items.

First up a video. Let me preface this with -
I had NO idea he was filming a video! My other half was SUPPOSED to be taking a photo!

And here are the rest - these are ALL from my cell phone so the quality is awful but then again - the photos don't really need a great camera because they are nothing but silly!

Good old Slash-esque hair.

Hehe...can you see how much fun he's having? My less than happy wizard haha!
 Hahahaha!
Sherlock Holmes...that is my detective face.
 Arrrrgh!

This picture cracks me up! Look at me in the trenches of Halloween City haha.
And lastly, I'm including this because it cracks my other half up, I am all crazy eyed!

Am I the only one that's had this type of little adventure so far this month? What is your first stop in a costume store? I obviously enjoy hats!

Fabulous Friday Finds! Where's pay day when you need?

That's silly...who doesn't ALWAYS need pay day?!

I couldn't pick a favorite out of this bunch of finds if you asked me to! Okay...maybe I could.

Before I get to all the fun I have to share some weekend plans.

First up on Saturday - I have to bring my little Sweet P to the vet - she has a check up that she's due for to make sure all is working the way it's supposed to! Gotta keep my crazy furry children healthy!

Then after Miss Penelope gets finished my lovely friend Sonia is coming over to indulge in some musical love and watch Burlesque!

So...as of right now...that's all the definitive plans I have. My other half is working Saturday and Sunday mornings so I won't get time with him until later in the afternoon/evening! I think we may get our decorations for Halloween up this weekend : )

Okay...on to the finds!

80's Vintage Plaid Cropped Blazer via streeturchinvintage - I love the cropped cut of this and the plaid is just too cute!

Red Lantern Nautical Necklace via SterlingSimplicity - I'm a sucker for nautical inspired items (PS - I love the Percy Jackson series and this makes me think of Percy and Poseidon...nerdy!)

Antique Autos Drinking Glassse via ItsStillLife - Seriously? Swoon over these glasses! I love the font and the antique cars and the colors are fabulous...you can't beat the fact that they are $10 either!

Birds on a Wire hope chest/jewelry box via rockthisvintage - I love how sweet and dainty this is...I can just see little treasures being stored in this.

Sweet Milk Illustration via helendardik - I love all of the illustrations from Helen's shop. So whimsical and full of life!

There they are! Do you have one that you loved?

How is your weekend shaping up? Any big plans? I hope I'm not the only one that hasn't put up my Halloween decorations yet!

Halloween Inspired Thrifty *Tutorial* Thursday!

Hello Lovelies!!

How is the weather treating you in your neck of the woods? It's finally cooling down (in the morning) here in Jacksonville, FL. It's in the 60's in the morning but is in the 80's again by the early afternoon. We're getting there though!

I have stumbled across SO many Halloween DIY's so I thought I would make the next couple weeks leading up to Halloween just to focus on tutorials in the realm of Howloween! :p

Oh...and guess what! I finally decided on my costume. I can't wait because this will be the first year that I will have trick or treaters...well I'm assuming we will have them...either way I will be *Pebbles* from The Flinstones! Admittedly I put my crafty shoes away and decided just to buy a costume so here's hoping it fits.

So on to the first round of Halloween DIY's!

To see the FULL tutorial go hop on over to Organize & Decorate Everything.

I can't wait to show you my costume. I just love Pebbles, I tried to convince my other half to be Bam Bam, but he didn't seem to be entertained by THAT idea.

What are you thinking of for a costume this year?

Talk to you soon!
