Things I Fancy Friday - *It's A Red Letter Day*

Hello loveys!

First I want to say that I apologize for the lack of source links...most of them linked back to BS sources like weheartit and tumblr. If you know the original source let me know! All the *source-less* images are from Pinterest.

So now that the legalities (well blog ones anyway) are taken care of...whatcha got planned for the weekend?

I have a Wedding Pow Wow with my lovely mother early Saturday morning. It's nearly August (wedding is in March!) and we have GOT to start making some decisions on things...anything. Nothing is set in stone except for the venue! I know it'll get done...it has to!

Oh! And an update from my last post about Zumba...I managed to get through 40 minutes of that hour long DVD that I only did 30 minutes of the first time I tried it. So yay for that little victory!

So I'm on a big red kick. So red is this week's TIFF theme! Maybe I'm regressing because I couldn't get my hair to the red I had so desperately wanted...stupid black hair...or maybe it's because it's hot as Hades in Florida. Either way...it's red!!
These...shoes...I love me some patent leather and the red and white polka dot fabric!! <3

Kitchen Swoon City!! The cherry wallpaper in the shelves just makes it so special.
*source-less*

Holy smokes...those lips...that hair. I want!! Color me envious!
*source-less*

I seriously want to weep with dress/tight envy here. Now I want red as my wedding color...and that dress as my reception outfit.

Perfection. I just love this. I'm not sure which element of the photo is the thing that really made me love it. Everything is just perfect.
*source-less*

And lastly...this. Circa 1949. Check out the rest of the amazing photos.

That's it ladies and gents!
Is there any color that is a stand out for you right now?

Talk to you soon!

Random Wednesday - Zumba is Kicking My Booty

I apologize for my abscense...I've been trying my damndest to get back into the routine of working out and not eating like it's my last meal...every time.

Due to this...I've been freaking exhausted when it finally comes time to sit down and relax...I pass out.

Hence no blog posts.

Has anyone else here tried Zumba, either in class or on DVD, because I feel like I am dying here!!

My goal is to be at a comfortable weight by the time October rolls around (that's when I HAVE to send in my measurements for my dress to be made) then maintain that weight until the wedding. I don't want to lose SO much I can't maintain it but I still have a good bit to go in order to comfortably fit in my own skin.

Is anyone else trying to get into shape or Get Healthy as I prefer to call it.

Please ease my pain and tell me you had a hard time getting through a Zumba DVD!!!

Below are some glimpses into my past week...

Me after my attempt at doing Day 2 of Zumba...half way through the DVD after I decided I couldn't make it any longer...

Day 1 of Zumba...I made it through the 40 minute DVD...took a shower and fell ever so NOT graceful onto the couch.

These started rolling in mid week last week...pre-Zumba...I thought these were difficult but I was wrong.

Lastly...I know the quality is HORRIBLE...but you get the general idea of how awesome my new chair is. I picked this beauty up on Saturday at Goodwill. 20 bucks...and it's Harvest Gold you guys...crushed velvet perfection.

That's it folks...so if you have any work out stories good or bad...please share!!!

Also...I'm on the Lose It app...if you are too let me know what email you are using and I'll add you!!

Talk to you soon!

Things I Fancy Friday - *Here Comes the Sun*

I want to start off by saying, I cannot believe what has happened in Colorado, it took my breath away when I heard it on the radio en route to work this morning. I'm sure there will be constant updates as the day progresses. I won't go on and on about it but I couldn't not mention it...

*********************************

So today's TIFF marks the second post with the new and hopefully improved version of my old Friday Finds. I hope you continue to enjoy the new way of things!

Today's theme is all about yellow. Maybe I have yellow on the brain due to the fact it is the prodominant color in my wedding. OR maybe because we've had so much rain the past few days I could use some sun...even in the faux sense!

So let's go!

These shoes...yellow and brown...so cute!

This print - and I love cats so I live them or live with them :)

These are some of the cutest tights I've ever seen.

Margarita popsicles...come on!!

This woman...that dress...those earrings...and that HAIR!!!!
*I don't have a source for this because it was linked to a tumblr on pinterest*

Any weekend plans in your neck of the woods?

My mom and I will be meeting for wedding stuff. All inside because it's too hot to be outside...so we'll be looking over potentional guest books, card boxes, and all THAT fun stuff!

PS - here is my wedding site

MyGlam vs. Birch Box - July - Ding! Ding! Round 3!

It's that time of the month again! No...not that time. It's a far more exciting time of the month.

MyGlam and Birch Box is ready to dual it out again!

This month I received my BB a lot sooner than my MyGlam bag which is unusual because MyGlam usually gets here quicker and they shipped the same day!

This month I decided to include myself in some of the photos...I think it can get kinda...boring (for lack of a nicer word) to read these review posts with only products pictured. If you think otherwise,  let me know, and I'll adjust it next month!

So let's get this sample show on the road!

Birch Box -

Birch Box this month was all about the senses.

Contents - Hello perfume sample by Harvey Prince/Earbuds/Energy Mints/UV Hair Protector Gel/Moisturizer Tint/Mascara (for more info you can see the card above)

The packaging couldn't have been cuter. And bonus...it smells nice! Though on my skin the scent didn't seem to last long...

Pink and blue earbuds! So freaking cute! Unfortunately I don't need earbuds...but I'll keep these handy if I ever need to look super cute and colorful while listening to music.

Mints! Instructions were obviously not included :p
Nothing really special about these...they kinda smell too. And not in a good minty way.

I had high hopes about this little sample. I love mascara/eyeliner samples. Blinc mascara is supposed to form "tubes" around your eyelashes. I am not a fan. It is SO difficult to take off and it doesn't give much eyelash "oomph"

The directions on this tiny tube were SO tiny I could hardly read them. Due to this...I thought it was a spray and it's a serum so I "sprayed" it on my head...that didn't work. Once I figured it out...it really just made my hair oily.

This tinted moisturizer is the worst...only because it is like 3 shades too dark. Fail.

BirchBox Conclusion -
This was pretty much a fail. I contacted the customer service regarding the color of the moisturizer seeing as you fill out their form and give them the very important "complexion and coloring" information. Also after seeing all the boxes people received with FULL SIZE Stila lipstick AND nail polish...I was really irritated because I felt like I was one of the few that got the "box leftovers" - I asked if I needed to fill out my form again. They more or less told me it couldn't hurt to fill it out again and "update" my answers. I checked and my answers couldn't be more current. I'm still fair complexion and I would still "splurge" on nail polish. BIG FAIL for me this month Birch people...big.

MyGlam -

Oh Happy Day!
This months MyGlam theme was Beach Beauty. When I first learned that bit I was apprehensive because even though I live in Florida...I loathe the beach.

Contents - Facial Towlettes/SPF Moisturizer/Hydrating Conditioner/Lip plumper (Full size)/Nail Polish (Full size)

-Nume provided a couple of coupon codes which is always appreciated
-The bag rundown, I appreciate the fact they show the other items that were included in bags, not just the ones you received. It's nice to know without searching what other people may have received
-When I saw the sticker promo card for the nail polish I couldn't wait to dig in!

The bag! How perfect of a bag for the beach theme! Also, you can tell this came at a different time since my nails are completely different from the other photos!

Buxom lip plumper - I am/was happy with the color - Just a kiss of blush pink and the lip gloss texture/quality was nice too. No burning...just a light tingle. A+

Ahhhh! I was sold just based off the packaging!!! And the bright yellow color is pretty great. I will be testing the polish out once I chance out my polish this weekend.

In Florida it's even more important to protect your skin...and if I can protect it and it smell like green apple...that's even better. I'm trying out my Wen Hair System now so I haven't used the conditioner but it smells nice and I do plan on trying it!

MyGlam Conclusion -
Winner winner!! Come on...this was a clear winner.
The cucumber towelettes are terrific and soft and effective. I'll be purchasing those the next time my current towelettes I use run out!
The bag was adorable, the polish is fab, I am 100% happy with each item. Probably because I can use them all!

I'll give Birch Box a couple more months but so far I am extremely underwhelmed with the big BB.

Do you subscribe to either service? Were you happy with what you got? If you post about please share!

What I Wore - *Let's Eat!*

Happy Monday fellow bloggy ladies!

How was your weekend?

Mine was pretty low which I so needed after such a busy week/weekend the week before last!

I did get a highly anticipated package in the mail on Saturday...I placed an order (via ebay) for the Wen Hair System. I was nervous to try it because it actually came with an instruction booklet...just to wash your hair! This set of photos is after my first use of the system. Maybe I'll do a little review once I've used it for a couple of weeks! Have you used the Wen Hair System?

We didn't see The Amazing Spider-Man like I had hoped BUT we did go out to dinner to a local restaurant called Seven Bridges (they have the best Salmon Caesar salad!) So this is where these photos are from. We snapped a few shots before heading out on our way! The lighting isn't great due to the fact it was a little after 8 pm when we left the house.

What was your weekend like?

Hands down...one of my favorite outfits. It's my go to.

Ta da! Let's get outta here and eat!

Wears Head to Toe -

Cardigan - Ebay - originally from F21
Dress - Darling - I bought this (and 2 others) from a Hautelook sale!
Hose - Hanes - Silk Reflections - Yep I'm wearing hose!
Shoes - Zoo Shoo

Me and my Lemon Drop...delicious.

What I Fancy Friday - Bloggers

Stupid Diet Rockstar + Nap - I think I'll be up far later than I should be tonight (PS - I'm typing this up Thursday evening) So forgive me if I ramble more so than usual...my mind is racing.

So first off, I'm tired of using the phrase "Friday Finds", so I'm giving this blog title a go. Also, I think I'm going to start attempt to start making these posts about specific themes. Bloggers this week.

Whatcha got planned for the weekend?

Has anyone seen the new Spider-Man yet or am I the only one who hasn't seen it?
I have 2 more groupon movie ticket vouchers left and I have to wait until passes are accepted before I see it! Though I hardly count them as "passes" I paid fair and square for them just at a discounted rate!

Once I got home today (Thursday) I started working on my wedding website. In the beginning of the wedding planning stages I had opted out of the whole website thing but the closer it gets...the more sense it makes. After a gentle nudge from my mother I decided to make one. It took me forever and I'm not technically finished yet!

(I'm counting this as one of my things I fancy because I fancy it a lot and it happens to be Friday and I'm a blogger!)
Oh and let me know what you think!

Some other things on the top of my "share" list -

Stephanie's hair is AMAZING and I love her blog. It's hair like this that is keeping me going on my attempt to grow my hair out. And I have a huge crush on her hair color...in a perfect world I would've been able to get rid of my black hair in one fell swoop and have this be the end result!

Hey look! Another Stephanie! This fabulous Stephanie shared her engagement photos and I thought they were the cutest thing ever!!

Miki (one of my fave bloggers) shared a babysitting adventure and I swear...she is the best babysitter ever! I had a blast just reading everything they did!

Abby shared some photos of her new felines...they are adorable...and Abby is also one cool cat!! :)
Last but by no means the least - Stephanie (ANOTHER Stephanie...maybe I should change the theme!) is the author of the blog Catsparella posts about cats and ALL things related to cats!! Needless to say...one of my daily reads. She posted about the movie called Miss Minoes and now...I have to buy it. Maybe next pay day! I had never heard of it before I read her post!

That's it! What do you think about the "themed" Friday posts?

Also...don't forget to give my wedding site a little look-see...I had zero idea of what to include or how to design it so I'd love to hear/read your thoughts before I share it with my family and guests!

I'll talk to you soon!

Random Wednesday - My Unexpected Handsome Visitor

Hey hey everyone!!

How goes it?

Two posts in one week...maybe I really am getting back into the blogging saddle! (How weird would that saddle look...would it be découpaged with bloggy photos?)

Anywho...

On the morning of Thursday 4/5/12, I received an unexpected bit of information from my mom via email, she told me my brother Michael (the third of three brothers I have) and his youngest son Mason would be in town later that evening!! I was elated because I haven't seen my Mason in a couple of years (which makes him 4 now) but irritated because I had only taken thursday off from work! So considering all the facts...I asked my boss if I could take another vacation day and make it a long weekend to visit with them.

Fun fact - I came back to work on Monday with a whopping 240+ emails...days off are bittersweet I tell you.

Unfortunately we didn't get a lot of photos taken but here are a few of me and my main man Mason (yep he's the handsome visitor...sorry bro!) and my brother!

Take 1-

Take 2 - that darn Captain America dart gun was the main attraction!

Michael and I - *You'd think he was the resident Floridian with his tan...*

I should also mention that I was able to -

- Read Mason bed time stories
- Babysit him while the old folks retired for naps and what not
- I was his back seat companion by his request when we went anywhere
- And I got the biggest hug, hold, and cuddle before he went to sleep Saturday evening

I've always felt a connection to Mason since he was born...he's a special little buddle of non-stop wiggle worm action!

One day you may see this Mason...maybe...and I want you to know that I love you!!
