Contrary Polish Review and Swatches - Aruba

Hey hey hey!

Look at me! Four posts in the week. It's like I'm getting back into the swing of things around here.

I actually took my FIRST set of swatch photos in my new place. It's like christening the office. It's like it's finally my space now.
Can you guess what brand I chose for my first swatch photos in my new space?

So today I have for you another Contrary Polish. A couple weeks ago I shared photos of a incredibly stunning polish from Contrary and now I'm back with another!

If you haven't tried Contrary Polish yet you are missing out!

Aruba teal blue with aqua shimmer

So a little trio of photos - left is in artificial light, middle is indoors during the day, and right is outdoors in indirect sun
Coats -
Two easy coats. No issues with application issues.
Color Intensity -
Oooooh weeee! Yes ma'am this is a beauty. The aqua and teal is a match made in blue heaven. This is a summer polish if I've ever seen one. Really it would be great for a winter wonderland polish because it's icy and cold as much as it is blue skies and the ocean.
Top Coat - HK Girl
Base Coat - Pretty Serious

Do you love it?? Every time I see swatches of this beauty I'm dying to wear it again!

See ya tomorrow!

LynBDesigns Review and Swatches - Pliny the Elder

Hellloooo everyone!

So a lot has happened in the last few days. We've had some activity on our house that's for sale and I've had my first interview since moving to Gainesville.

It almost feels like TOO much activity with the start of interviewing but hey...I've gotta work!

So today I have a lovely little polish from LynBDesigns from the QI Collection.

Also LynBDesigns is having a big sale right now in honor of the new FB Page for LynBDesigns fans reaching 100 likes! Use code GROUPHUG for 50% off!

(linear holographic polish with a deep red jelly base and a smattering of orange iridescent glitter)

Indirect setting sun

Coats -
Three coats. Though two coats would suffice. A little on the thick side but nothing that's too difficult to work with.
Color Intensity -
The orange flecks in this polish really give it so much character. It really adds something jazzy to the purple polish.
Top Coat - HK Girl
Base Coat - Pretty Serious

Octopus Party Nail Lacquer Review and Swatches - Twice as Ice

Are you guys ready for the big guns of holo goodness?

I've had a few polishes from Octopus Party Nail Lacquer for awhile but am FINALLY getting around to using one and sharing the pretty with you guys!

So Twice as Ice is freaking stunning.
I took a lot of sunny photos so I could try and capture the beauty of it as best I can.

So without too much chitter chatter from me...here it is!

(linear holographic light blue polish)

Indoor evening light // Indirect sunlight

And....a TON of other direct sun photos because it's too incredible not to.

Here are multiple shots of the same nail so you can see how many shifts the polish has!

The return of the mac!
Coats -
Two smooth and easy coats.
Color Intensity -
Look. This polish is perfect. It's not a "bold" color. It really is icy blue. It has a cool gray/blue to it indoors and more of an icy light blue outdoors. Twice as Ice is a stunning and sassy and one you will reach for again and again.
Top Coat - HK Girl
Base Coat - Pretty Serious

Twice as Ice has made me super excited to try the rest of my Octopus Party Nail Lacquer polish!

Have you tried OPNL yet?

Pahlish Review and Swatches - Electric Boots

Okay so here's the thing.

Apparently when you move and also don't have a job it becomes much easier to lose track of what day it is.

Back in Jacksonville the trash pick up is on Friday. In Gainesville the trash pick up is on Thursday.

When Wednesday evening rolled around and we were putting the trash out...it made me think it was Thursday. Normally on Friday mornings I will write my Things I Fancy Friday post that same day. So to my surprise I woke up on Thursday...realized it was Thursday...and that I hadn't written a post for the day the night before. See nail reviews/swatches take much more time than my Friday posts.

So feeling defeated by my inability to know what day of the week it is. I just decided to start over again this week and try again.

With ALL that being said...

PAHLISH!

I'm bringing ya Electric Boots today baby! So let's check it out!

(Bright cornflower blue linear holographic with soft gold shimmer and scattered gold flakes)

Direct setting sun...it's the setting sun and it still wants to sparkle.

Coats -
Two coats. No issues with formula or application.
Color Intensity -
Ooooh so pretty. Cornflower blue seems like a spot on reference for color on this one. The gold flecks in this beauty really give it a little something extra. The holo goodness is just perfect. Not too much. Not too little. Lovely all around.
Top Coat - HK Girl
Base Coat - Pretty Serious

Last week I shared with you a polish from the Elton John collection that isn't available anymore on the Pahlish site but THIS week...different story. Electric Boots is in stock. Yaaay!

So I would be lying if I said things were easy breezy since the move.
I do get a little overwhelmed and I don't always find the time to sit down and blog but I will keep trying to make sure I get my posts out as much as normal. Planning for five a week...worst case scenario...hope to have at least three.

Thanks for sticking around and seeing me through this big life change!
