I want to start by saying I REALLY hope you clicked on today's post!

This really is a special edition and it truly is fabulous. Not just because of how gorgeous what I have to show you is but also because the organization it comes from is nothing short of amazing.

You may have seen other blogs or articles post about the project but in case you haven't I want to take a minute and share the cause. I promise there are photos in the post too AND a coupon code! Yessss!

Threads is a company that originated from The Shine Project.
When I first did my research on both the company and the project I was floored. It was so overwhelming to think how much one group can make a difference.

The Shine Scholarship Project is a non-profit that was created by The Shine Project. Not only do they provide jobs for at risk teens but they also provide many services and opportunities that go hand in hand with following their dreams and having the resources to do so.

Following suit to the Scholarship program - Threads was launched -
Threads helps at risk kids pay their way through college. Kids that more than likely would never get the opportunity to even have college on their radar. Many of the teens that work with Threads to create the jewelry are the first generation in their family to attend college!

It fills my heart with so much joy to know there are women like Ashley and her posse out there changing lives.

(ugh sorry for the terrible lighting...see what happens when I try and take a photo in my house after work!)

I was offered a chance to collaborate with The Shine Project and I wasn't sure what to expect in regards to the bracelet. When I opened the package I was blown away at how perfect it was. Not only is it incredibly pretty but it's so versatile! Stack it or wear it alone and it is divine. Needless to say I will be buying a few more items!

If you want to pick up one of the many fabulous pieces make sure use the code THATGAL10 to receive 10% off your order! If you order something please share with me what you chose! I know I'm going to have a hard time choosing!

Aly's Dream Polish - Firebrick #65

So how about we start winding down this week with my numero uno favorite brand?

That's right Aly's Dream Polish

Of course you knew that because you read the post title so my guise of being mysterious needs some work.

BUT before I share all the pretty photos and hopefully before you scroll past all my chatter up here...can you please do me a solid and vote for me in the Best of Blog Awards?? Voting was originally going to close today but it's been extended through this weekend. I am crossing my fingers you guys think I deserve an award in this amazing line up of blogs. It would mean more than you know! I'm considering hosting a giveaway if I win because what better way to say thank you to people that voted??

Okay sorry...photo time. So much pretty!!

By the grace of the polish Gods...this polish is divine. Look at it up there...being all chic and fabulous.

Let's mac.

Standard macro on the right and on the left is Firebrick in indirect overcast sunlight and it's still shines.

Coats -
Two coats. One regular coat and it was fully opaque but I added a second thin coat because...it's just something I have to do to make a mani feel complete! Perfect formula. No dragging or pulling in between coats. Not too thick or thin. Perfection.
Color Intensity -
Gosh. Where to begin? This is such a captivating color. It's the outstanding mix of brown, red, and yellow. Literally...like a brick...but like a holo brick. Oooh holo bricks. Focus....if you want to feel all chic and fabulous. Firebrick will do that. I mean...did you see that yellow/gold holo shift??
 Top Coat - HK Girl
Base Coat -

What I Wore Wednesday - Platforms, Bows, and Hearts

And just like that...we're have way through the work week.

Though IF we were like...three quarters of the way through...I would be lying if I said I was upset.

Also...I broke a nail yesterday...what a jerk of a nail!! I keep them short already but COME ON! Luckily...my photos for tomorrow...were taken a few days ago prior to the nail breakage. Yay!
PS - tomorrow's post will feature a stunner from Aly's Dream Polish!

Time for the platform goodness!

Cardigan - Charter School Cardigan in Rose
Earrings - World Market
Dress - Kohls
Tights - Zulily sale - Brand Eye Candy
Shoes - Forever 21
Polish - Mystery polish from Pahlish
Lipstick - NYX Cosmetics in Miracle

It's all in the details...

For some nutty reason when I uploaded the photos the color of my dress in the above photo got washed out. No idea why because none of the other colors in the photo were washed out. Crazy.

Come by tomorrow for Aly's!!

Mani Series - Sherlock - A Study in Polish - Let's Have Dinner

It's with great sadness that I post today's post...

It's my final post for the Sherlock Mani Series!! This has been so fun sharing the freaking fabulous polish from A Study in Polish for the past six weeks! I hope you spotted some polish that you love and enjoyed the character specific collages :)

BUT with the sadness of seeing the series coming to an end...there is also TONS of happiness because today's polish is freaking divine.

Before I get to the photos - below are the links to all of the previous Sherlock series posts :)

Let's Have Dinner
(*bright red jelly polish would go great with your battle dress! It is filled with a mix of black and blue glitters)

HOLY CRAP! Do you see what I see??? This is a look at my nails polish. And it's amazing.

Let's macro!

Coats -
Two easy as pie coats. Even glitter distribution and nearly completely opaque which can be difficult with a jelly. There is a slight visible nail line but it really only shows in the macros. I didn't notice it in regular light. Fabulous formula just like all the others I've shared!
Color Intensity -
Wowza! Freaking fabulous is really my best description of it. It's a show stopper cherry red with amazing black hexagon shaped glitters with little blue glitters thrown in to really catch your eye.
 Top Coat - HK Girl
Base Coat -

Aurora Lacquers - Fae and Moirai

Good morning...afternoon...evening...whenever you happen to find yourself stopping by to see this post!

I hope you had a great weekend or if you had a bad weekend...here's hoping for a better one this week!

I was knee deep in fabulous polish this weekend which worked out well since the weather was pretty dreadful in not to sunny Florida.

Today is more or less a continuation of my post from last Monday. More fabulous polish from the fun and sassy new brand Aurora Lacquers. She had a great grand opening last weekend and I can't wait for the next restock! Make sure to check out Aurora Lacquers Facebook page to stay up to date!

Fae
(*grey-purple textured polish packed with tons of glitter)

Without addition of a top coat

I wanted to showcase Fae in all it's textured glory first. I'm not a huge fan of texture personally but the texture in Fae really added something special to it. To see all the shiny glitter bits popping out in the rough polish was a unique and really special!

With the addition of a top coat

And there she is with that tried and true shine of a top coat. I used two coats of HK Girl and you would never know it was a textured polish by the touch. The really neat thing is that it still LOOKED textured. Best of both worlds for me!

Coats -
Three thin coats. This is a thicker polish as it's textured and meant to be gritty. But as you can see it goes on very evenly and distributed without an issue.
Color Intensity -
Oh the color...such an interesting color. As you can see it's true to the description of the polish. It can appear very grey or VERY purple. It's not the camera playing tricks on you! It's such a sassy little polish.
 Top Coat - HK Girl
Base Coat -

Moirai
(*purple based polish with tons of iridescent glitters and holo stars throughout)
Over Aly's Dream Polish Super Black

Here is a look at Moirai over both the black and also over Fae. As you can see the colors really pop over a dark polish and are more subtle over a similar polish color. Either way...LOTS of sparkle.

Coats -
Two thin coats over Aly's Dream Polish Super Black and one coat over Fae - it was very very easy to get all those electric glitters out of the bottle. No issue with even distribution. Except for the stars! They are a heavier glitter among the less dense glitter so they fall to the bottom. I did get one out so you could see the pretty reflective glitter. Honestly...the glitter is so gorgeous that even if you can't fish a star out...you will NOT be disappointed with all the stunning glitter bits in it.
Color Intensity -
VERY intense. It packs a huge punch of eye-catching glitters. They are so reflective in the light. Lots of fun for sure.
 Top Coat - HK Girl
Base Coat -
