NerdLacquer Swatches - Batcave

So I suppose there is no REAL reason to do a "review" post of this polish because...well...NerdLacquer has disappeared from the polish world.

One of the great mysteries I tell ya.

So instead of reviewing, aka doing a little cliff notes at the end of the photos like normal, I'm just going to share photos of the allusive NerdLacquer - Batcave.

Batcave was originally part of a trio of polishes that were released exclusively for Harlow & Co.
The polishes that were a part of the trio were Batcave, Scully, and Han Shot First. I have them all so if anyone wants to see swatches of the other two just let me know!

As you may know, these little buggers can be HARD to find, especially any of the "exclusives" that NL released in the past. So it's bittersweet to share swatch photos because I know they are hard to come by so I'm sorry for sharing a hard to find polish but I hope you like seeing the photos!

LOOK AT THE BRIGHT BITS!

I find it difficult to not say a couple of things about the polish and formula so I'll just to a quick recap. This is two coats on it's own. A third coat would've been closer to make it fully opaque. I don't love using a base color polish, aka undie, because I like to see things on their own. I think if I did use one that a basic black or a dark purple would be pretty neat with it. The formula was very easy to work with and had no issues with it.

So are you a NerdLacquer fan? Do you own any or did you never get on that bandwagon?

I hope you enjoyed seeing the swatches!

Things I Fancy Friday: Modcloth - Uniquely You Campaign!

Hey everyone!

I have something new and exciting to share with you guys today!

Modcloth has this awesome style campaign called Uniquely You and I was oh so excited when Amy, a Modstylist from Modcloth, asked if I would be interested in participating in this weeks round of the campaign!

I was given the task (that sounds so Mission Impossible-esque) to put together an ensemble with the main item being the fabulous Coach Tour Dress in Navy Stripes. I was SO excited to see that this was my piece because it's something I would wear and it's something I would buy if I had the money! Also I have a peplum top from Modcloth that is pretty much the this...minus the dress part! I couldn't find the top on the site so it may be out of stock.

Take a look at what I dreamt up and then scroll on down to see where my inspiration came from!

I had a REALLY tough time choosing a color scheme for this. Navy is one of my favorite colors to wear because there are so many colors you can pair with it. I spent hours narrowing the colors down. Coral, orange, yellow, aqua, blush...ALL colors I've worn or would wear with this dress.

Then I really thought about it, after chatting with my hubs and some girlfriends, I finally chose blush! I wear my rose/blush colored Charter School Cardigan with a navy and white striped dress I own ALL the time. Oh look...I found a what I wore post of a similar outfit! Only it's a black and white dress from Modcloth!

I couldn't put together this outfit without some nod to nautical because the navy, the gold buttons, and the structure of the dress have a very nautical feel to it. I'm obsessed with the knot bracelet! I just love all of these pieces....obviously!

When I saw this photo of the blush colored bike with a basket full of books it totally spoke to me. This would be a perfect outfit to wear while leisurely riding that adorable bike to the beach or a park. Yep...I'm in vacation mode.

I hope you made it through this whole post and I hope you enjoyed it! I loved getting a chance to share my style with you guys! Are you loving any of the items I chose? They're all going on my "wishlist" on Modcloth!

Bear Pawlish Review and Swatches - Pretty Hate Machine

Hey everyone!

Whew! It's getting kinda hectic up in here. I haven't moved in 3 years and moving to a whole new city? Yeah just add that to the list of stress! I know it's common to say but I don't know HOW my husband and I accumulated all the stuff we did in the last 3 years. **mind blown**

So I'm going to escape to polish land for a minute to share yet anouther beautiful polish from Bear Pawlish.

I bring you...Pretty Hate Machine.

(intense black jelly base with an intense linear holo. With a smidge of Iris Blue to really make the flare pop)

Setting sun direct sunlight

I know the macro on the left isn't as clear as normal and it's got a glare BUT I had to include it because of the pretty rainbow!

Coats -
Two smooth coats.
Color Intensity -
I've worn my fair share of Bear Pawlish and every time I've been in love with the final product on my nails. Always stunning. Always oh so lovely. This deep dark navy is intense and has a kick butt vibe to it. It'll make you feel pretty kick ass. If I do say so myself.
Top Coat - Seche Vite
Base Coat - Liquid Lacquer base coat

Bite Beauty Review and Swatches - Luminous Creme Lipstick - Violet

Not too long ago a lovely lady by the named of Heather reached out to me on my blog's facebook page and asked if I had ever tried lipstick from Bite Beauty. At that time I hadn't but it was on my list of "to try" brands if I ever got the spare cash to take the plunge and spend 24 bucks on a tube!

Then my birthday rolled around so I was itching to buy a few things for myself. I was window shopping online at Sephora for the brand and saw they had mini tubes for half the price of a full size tube! Two duo tubes that you can snag up at the "impulse buy" section of the registers. The one I bought was the vivid duo and the other is called the neutral duo. I always go for bright!

I'm sharing the color called Violet today that is described as a vibrant purple.

Oh look I got a haircut!

**after 7 hours of wear**

Primer -
No primer or lip balm. I did use a sugar scrub in the morning to take off any dead skin.
Coats -
Three swipes!
Staying Power -
8/10
This is a true creme lipstick. It's more of a moisturizer than something that is made to last. That being said it does last longer than a lot of other cremes I have. As you can see at hour 7, after lots of eating and drinking straight from a water bottle, it still keeps it's initial color. It's not really a "stain" either because the remainder was still easy to remove. Also my lips felt smooth and moisturized the entire time.
Color Feathering/Bleeding/Build Up/Caking -
As you can see in the "four hour" photo there is very minimal feathering into my lip lines. I'm not wearing any liner or anything so for a creme lipstick this had very very little bleeding issues.

So long story short...is this worth the $24 dollar price tag...yes.

I would pay $24 dollars for ONE of these. It's not a brand I would make a habit of buying but it's worth buying one shade to have in your bag. Luckily you can take all the time you need at Sephora to find the perfect shade!

If you're looking to test the brand before you drop 24 bucks on a full size tube I highly recommend snagging one of these mini duos for $12. Well worth it!

Have you tried Bite Beauty? Do you plan to?

NailNation 3000 Review and Swatches - Velluto Matte Top Coat

Hey guys!

Thank you for all the warm wishes and support about my news I shared yesterday!
Things should be relatively normal around here for the next couple of weeks because it'll still be a little over 2 weeks before I move! I'll keep you guys in the loop!

But today I have a special post all about the matte top coat from NailNation 3000

I am showing the top coat over two holo polishes from NailNation 3000, each has link to the original posts so you can see the polish prior to adding the matte top coat, also I show just a regular creme polish with the top coat.

(velvet matte finish top coat)

Matte Top Coat over NailNation 3000 Lavender Bliss

Matte Top Coat over NN3000 Stereo Hearts

Matte Top Coat over Essie Licorice and NN3000 Lime Aide Color Tint holo top coat

Coats -
Each of the sections show just ONE coat of the matte top coat
Finish -
I LOVE the velvet matte finish. I love a matte polish anyway but the velvet finish of this makes the polish SO rich and lush. I love this over a holo polish. It mattes the shine and I LOVE that you can still see the holo pigment under the velvet finish. Perfection.
Top Coat - Seche Vite
Base Coat - Liquid Lacquer base coat
