Happy Friday guys!

 

While the weather outside is frightful...yep that just happened...I'm thrilled the weekend is just around the bend.

 

I'm bringing the fancy to to my TIFF today. So it's literally fancy things I fancy.

 

I'm taking the day off work Monday to celebrate my one year wedding anniversary!! Man did that fly by. But I'll have a post ready to go, assuming nothing crazy happens over the weekend, and it's going to be a good one for you Above the Curve fans and even more so for the Dr. Who fans out there!

Oh look! More Aly's! 

Would you guys be cool if I posted one Aly's a week? Because...I kinda have a ton of them. I'd be happy to accept color requests for colors you'd like to see! Granted I don't have them all but I have enough to accept requests :-)

Aly released eight new colors during her last restock and I have them all. I'm posting one today and I posted the prototype of January's LE polish last month, Garnet Dreams, but I may do a more updated post that has the released version of Garnet Dreams. So if there are any of the new colors you'd like to see let me know!

Persimmon

(A mid-orange with red undertones)

I wanted to take photos that showed both the bright and bold orange that this polish shows most of the time but also wanted to try and catch when it shows those red undertones. Hopefully I've done it justice!

The indoor goodness....normal light...and it's so shiny!

The holo plus the oh so sassy and bright polish made my camera put up a fight..look at that thumb!

The holo and the bright color played tricks on my camera.

Two coats. Nearly fully opaque in one coat. Fabulous formula as always.

Color Intensity -

Oh yeah. It's intense alright. You feeling fun and feisty? Put this on your paws. Definitely a show stopper with the unmistakable Aly's Dream Polish holo shine. Besides Spicy Sriarcha this is one of the boldest of the new colors.

I am over the moon excited to share with you that I won five out of the six awards I was nominated in over at My So Called Chaos! Two of which were Most Notorious Nails and Fiercest Fashionista! If I could tell high school me I would one day win anything related to fashion and nails (I was a hard core nail biter for most of my life) high school me would've guffawed in my face.

 I am so thankful for the support I received during all rounds of the nominations/voting. Thank you!

Swing by tomorrow for another polish from Aly's!! Because my Aly's stash is so large...you're gonna see a lot of them.

So as you may be able to pick up on by the subject of this post...I hemmed and hawed over sharing this.

 

I personally don't really mind seeing polishes on a blog that are either hard to find (HTF) or no longer being made. Mostly because...it stops me from buying more polish...but still allows me to see the pretty polish! Or it gives me something to search for...because I'll admit going through the motions of tracking a HTF is part of the fun of the hunt!

 

So I decided to share this beauty with those of you who don't mind seeing polishes that may not be easily accesible!

 

Amanda, the NerdLacquer mad scientist, makes some beautiful polish. Sadly, no one really knows what's happened to her, she comes and goes in the wide world of polish. When she does decide to restock (I'm sure she will...at some point..and I'm sure it'll be unplanned like the last one) this one will be available!

 

Cyance Friction

(*brilliant cyan-teal with pink shimmer plus turquoise and copper glitter)

 

 

 

Indoor lighting - still bright and fabulous. The drab indoor lighting doesn't dull this baby!

 

And the macs of course...see that hidden pink/purple shimmer??? It gives this polish SO much life!

 

Two regular coats. Not thin, not thick, and it's completely opaque! Not many glitters can give you that quick two coater application!

Color Intensity -

This is such a beauty. If/when NL restocks and you either don't have any in your collection or haven't gotten this one yet...please snag it! I swear that shimmer admist of the beautiful teal will have you staring at your nails all day.

Top Coat - HK Girl -

One coat and it was a smooth as can be. This glitter isn't glitter hungry at all!

Whew! Well Monday we meet again. 

Mercy me those weekends just fly by. I swear whether I've done absolutely nothing or seemingly everything the weekend days still fly by. I would do anything for a long weekend!! 

I had planned on reviewing the new Above the Curve Dr. Who collection today BUT since my terrible nail break last week I thought better of it. So I'll have that post for you NEXT Monday. Have you guys seen the new collection?

BUT I do still have a beauty from Above the Curve to share with you today. I don't believe it's available right now on the site but Dusty Huntin' is which is a somewhat similar color. It's not a dupe but it has the same bright and bold feel to it. 

Watermelon

(red jelly with linear holo from Jolly Rancher Collection)

Still bright even in my drab living room light

The holo can lean blue like the photo on the left!

Three thin coats. No issue with formula.

Color Intensity -

VERY bright and bold. This was a super fun color. Now I live in Florida but I really don't like going to the beach...or outside much...because I'm a bit of a hermit. BUT this polish was made to be worn on a summer day at the beach. While the description says it's red...and I've seen swatches more on the red side..mine is much more of a pinkish red. Which was great for me as I loved it. You can see even in the indoor photo it's pretty much pink. It does has a red tone to it though which seems pretty accurate considering the jolly rancher it's named after!
