MAC Cosmestics Review and Swatches - Rocky Horror Picture Show LE Lipsticks

Alright lipstick lovers!

I was finally able to sit down and swatch the three LE lipsticks from the recently released Rocky Horror Picture Show Collection!

Sadly, like most highly anticipated collections from MAC, these sold out FAST. Even with the snafu of the collection releasing a day late!

I managed to acquire the three lipsticks that are limited edition. The fourth in the collection is Sin, which is not LE, it was just released in this collection with the fancy RHPS packaging.

I will do my review of each lipstick at the end of the post so all I don't break up all the photos with all the technical stuff!

So let's get this swatch party started!

(yellowish brick red - MATTE finish)

**after 2 hours of wear**

(vivid blush red - AMPLIFIED crème finish)

**after 2 hours of wear**

(deep raspberry wine - MATTE finish)

**after 2 hours of wear**
Primer -
No priming but I used a very light exfoliator before applying my lipstick. Once in the morning because my lips have been so dry.
Coats -
More of less the same across the board. All of the lipsticks were very opaque without a heavy handed application.
Staying Power -
ALL of them I would give a 9/10 based on the 2 hour timeline photos alone!
Strange Journey - Minimal build up/caking - as you can see there was some after 2 hours but not nearly as much as some matte lipsticks from MAC.
Oblivion - Beautiful all the way through! My lips felt soft and moisturized the entire wear time. The fading was slow and even with very little bleeding into the lip lines. Really fabulous especially for a crème!
Frank-N-Furter - Less build up and caking than SJ but the fading was less even for me. The color still stayed really well especially considering I was drinking from a water bottle the entire time.

Oh and another fun fact...you can totally see my roots!! Gah! I wish I was able to spend a small fortune to get it touched up! I have to save that kind of lavishness to do whenever I manage to get a call back for an interview!

So which is your favorite? Did you snag any when they were released?

My favorite is a tie...between Strange Journey and Oblivion!

See you tomorrow!

Wet n Wild Review and Swatches - LE Fall 2014 Matte Lipsticks - Urban Night and Sunset Siren

So today is the day that I wrap up my reviews for the Fall 2014 LE Matte Lipsticks from Wet n Wild.

I have the final two (out of four) to share with you today.
Here is the complete list of lipsticks in the collection -
(including links to previous reviews)

Urban Night
Sunset Siren

Let's get this lipstick party started!

Urban Night

**bare lips**

**after 3 hours of wear**

Sunset Siren

**bare lips**

**after 3 hours of wear**
Primer -
No priming or exfoliation for either lipstick
Coats -
These are both very opaque so it doesn't take much at all to be opaque - also no need to be heavy handed with application because they are very bold without much force!
Staying Power -
9/10 for both
Much like Bordeaux Boulevard these have major staying power. Sunset Siren almost looks brand new after 3 hours and let me tell you I thought most of it would've ended up on my water bottle I was drinking from during that time but it was still very much there. Urban Night also held up well considering I ate lunch while wearing it!
Color Feathering/Bleeding/Build Up/Caking -
Urban Night had more visible build up but it didn't feel terrible and gritty or dry. Even with the build up my lips still felt moisturized. Sunset Siren didn't have as much visible build up but it was more drying and felt like the moisture was quickly disappearing.

So like I mentioned last week in my review I wanted to show all of these without any primer/exfoliating. So at least you know if you don't have time to exfoliate or if you don't own primer that these still work pretty darn well. For the most part they weren't overly drying like A LOT of matte lipsticks are. Also these aren't AS matte as other brands like MAC.

I know they are nearly impossible to find in stores but don't fret! They can be found easily on Ebay! Just search the brand and the name of the lipstick you're wanting and BAM...they will be there!

Wet n Wild Review and Swatches - LE Fall 2014 Matte Lipstick - Sweet Cream

Hey hey!

Thank you guys for all the good vibes and positive messages on my post yesterday. It means a lot to have so much positivity coming my way!

Today I'm back with another LE matte lipstick from the Wet n Wild Fall 2014 collection. This time around I've got Sweet Cream.

You can see my review of Bordeaux Boulevard here.

The limited edition (LE) collection has four matte lipsticks. The names are -
Bordeaux Boulevard
Sweet Cream
Urban Night
Sunset Siren

Sweet Cream

Bare (but slightly stained) lips
4 hours after initial application
Primer -
No primer or lip balm.
Coats -
Three swipes!
Staying Power -
7/10
Normally I'm not a fan of nude/natural color lipsticks but since this was part of the LE's I wanted to try it out. Like Bordeaux Boulevard (from last week) this has really great staying power. Not quite as much as BB but still top notch.
Color Feathering/Bleeding/Build Up/Caking -
As you can see in the 4 hour photo this did build up. For me it was too much build up to deal with but if I used a primer or a lip scrub prior to application this would've been less of an issue. I want to show all four of these lipsticks in the collections without any scrubs or primers so you get the best idea of wear.

So you can see that while the lipstick is a light color it is completely a full coverage lipstick. It gives just enough color I think.

These may be easier to find online (ebay or amazon) at this point
but running by your local drug store couldn't hurt!

Wet n Wild Review and Swatches - LE Fall 2014 Matte Lipstick - Bordeaux Boulevard

Hey everyone!

So Wet n' Wild recently released a small collection of Limited Edition matte lipsticks and they were impossible for me to find. Possibly because I live in a small city now. Lucky for me I was able to find someone to snag them for me!

The limited edition (LE) collection has four matte lipsticks. The names are -
Bordeaux Boulevard
Sweet Cream
Urban Night
Sunset Siren

I decided I would share each of the four with you guys but I'm going to break it down to one post per week. This week I have Bordeaux Boulevard to share with you.

Bordeaux Boulevard
(plum toned matte lipstick)

**4 hours after initial application**

Primer -
No primer or exfoliation used
Coats -
Two to three coats. Mostly just to get it even not so much for opacity.
Staying Power -
9/10
As you can see after 4 hours of wear, including eating and drinking, this lipstick held up really well. Yep a 9/10 is what I'm rating it. Better than any of the matte MAC lipstick I've reviewed!
Color Feathering/Bleeding/Build Up/Caking -
Little to no build up and feathering. This was such a perfect lipstick to wear. Normally without ANY moisturizing primer or prep there is some slight build up but nothing on this one. The fading was a little patchy but really nothing terrible.

You guys. I highly recommend tracking this down. You can check local drugstores/walmart/target - any place that carries Wet n Wild - it'll be worth tracking it down! The cost ranges between 1 dollar and some change and 4 dollars. It all depends on where you go!

This is one of the best matte lipsticks I've ever used and that's saying a lot!

I will have Sweet Cream to show you next week!

Share It!
