Girly Bits Review and Swatches - Prototype #3 - Not The Only Mermaid in Town

Hello!

Today I have prototype from Girly Bits to share with you!

I'm telling you what...prototypes aren't easy to snag but totally worth it if you can get them!

I'm excited to share this one with you guys. I hope you enjoy it!

Prototype #3 - Not The Only Mermaid in Town
**outdoors - direct light**

Coats -
Three thin coats. Perfect jelly formula. So easy to apply and not too thick.
Color Intensity -
A sparkle filled bright blue jelly? Yes please! As you can tell if you see this polish up close...three thin coats doesn't bring it to complete opacity. It works for me but a fourth coat will help with that or 2-3 thicker coats. I just love how bright this blue is!
Top Coat - HK Girl
Base Coat - Liquid Lacquer base coat

Girly Bits Review and Swatches - Prototype #6

Hey guys and dolls!

I have a prototype that I snagged during a sale that Girly Bits had a few weeks back featuring a handful of prototypes. Some may turn into polishes sold and some may just stay prototypes.

I hope for the sake of polish lovers around the world...this beauty becomes a polish that's sold in the store! When I first saw this prototype I had to have it. I actually bought the two crèmes that were for sale because even just on a swatch stick they were beautiful!

Sadly, it's sold out right now. It wasn't a couple days ago but by the time I typed this it sold out!

So without further blah blah blah from me...here's Prototype #6!

(medium dusty/purple gray)

Coats -
Two beautiful coats. No issues with formula being too thin or thick. Application was a breeze.
Color Intensity -
This is hands down one of my top 5 polishes in my list of favorites. It's the perfect mix of purple/gray. It has warmth to it but it's also a very cool tone. Beautiful. So chic and fabulous. I could wear it for a week!
Top Coat - HK Girl
Base Coat - Liquid Lacquer base coat

Did you manage to buy a few of the prototypes when they went on sale?
Do you love this as much as I do?

Hopefully if Pam gets enough positive feedback about the crèmes that she will make this permanent! I would love to see a collection of crèmes because boy does she makes so beauties!

Girly Bits Review and Swatches - Food Fight! - A Box Indied Exclusive

Happy Labor Day everyone!

Hopefully you get a chance to hop online and catch up on some blog reading today because this post here has a polish too pretty to miss!

Will you be shopping any big labor day sales?

Today I'm being a brat and sharing a beautiful exclusive polish by Girly Bits. The stockist website Llarowe hosts a subscription box that's curated monthly to include five exclusive polishes from a list of 11 collaborating indie polish makers. For August, Girly Bits, was one of the five indie makers to contribute.

I bought this polish second hand since I didn't buy a box so don't fret if you love it and miss the box because they are around! Here are a couple links to people selling on storenvy!
 One and Two.

So let us begin!

Food Fight!
(blue/gray crelly with multi-sized glitters and small holo glitters)

Outdoors in direct sunlight
Let's mac!

Coats -
Three coats. I started them thin but I could've gotten away with two if I used thicker coats.
Color Intensity -
So Stormy Skies is one of my favorite Girly Bits polishes and it makes sense that Food Fight is now up there for a favorite because Pam does amazing things with gray/blue polishes. This isn't an in your face pop of color...it's a perfect mix of bold because of the bright and bold glitter and shimmer...and subtle with the stunning blue/gray polish. Love it!
Top Coat - HK Girl
Base Coat - Liquid Lacquer base coat

Do you any Girly Bits?

I'm sorry for sharing an exclusive polish but I just had to share the pretty!

Girly Bits Review - King of the Lab

Okay I have a confession.

I didn't buy this polish because it's inspired by the television show Bones.

I bought it as an ode to my hubby.

He'll be starting grad school before too long and will be beginning the long and tedious journey of getting his PhD in the field of chemistry.

I'm not fully prepared for what that all means but for now...I'm just going to share this polish that reminds me of my chemist hubby.

(pumpkin orange with glass fleck shimmer)

Coats -
Three coats. A thin coat and two regular coats. This is a little on the sheer side. Looking back I would probably go with a fourth coat since it's sheer enough that building it up wouldn't make it thick.
Color Intensity -
A eye catching orange with a fabulous pink pop! Such a fun polish. The pink pop is easier to see in person when shifting the nails or when they catch the light but it's still very much there. Also the bright orange was making my camera do somersalts and didn't want to focus!
Top Coat - HK Girl
Base Coat - Liquid Lacquer base coat

Do you any Girly Bits? Or any of the Bones collection polishes?

Mani Monday - Girly Bits Review - Stormy Skies

And....we're back to our regularly scheduled program.

The work week is here yet again.

I will rally until I can rally no more to have a 3 day weekend and a 4 day work week!
(PS - my rallying is pretty pointless)

I have a week chock full of goodness to share with you though!

So shall we begin?

I recently bought my first polish by Girly Bits, which is a Canadian based polish company, from a Llarowe sale. (Thank goodness for stockists otherwise shipping can be pricey when you're outside of Canada!)

I snagged it honestly because it was one of the only ones still in stock due to the big sale and I COULD NOT be more thrilled with my chance choosing of the color.

With all that being said...here is Stormy Skies!

***********************************************

ARE YOU KIDDING ME with that blue?

The shine and sparkle is so bright and happy. I was staring at my nails like a crazy person!

And I was so wowed by the fact that even in my dark horribly lit living room it still sparkled...I had to take a photo to share that polish phenomenon.

Blurry...blame the sparkle. But I just love the font on the label!

Two macros so you can see the bright blue and the "stormy" blue that different lighting brings out.
Also the little dark bits are darn bubbles that I caused by painting the top coat too quickly. Novice move! My apologies but you can still see all the pretty.

You can really see the sparkle the light glitters give here.

Coats -
Two very easy coats. Not thick at all. Long lasting (for me at least) I wore it for two days without any chips or tip wear
Color Intensity -
So lovely and so dainty but still very striking. I obviously don't choose my colors based on season since I'll wear black in summer and light blue in winter but for those of you who choose colors by season...this is a stunning color for spring/summer.
 Top Coat -
Essence Gel-Look and HK Girl (Essence first then HK on top of it)
Base Coat -

Oh and you can follow Girly Bits FB page and Llarowe's FB for info on restocks and new colors!

Now I want to wear this color again...

Make sure to come by tomorrow for my review of Enchanted Polish - Once Upon a Cloud!

Share It!
