What I Wore - *Wizards and Kitties*

For once, the title of this WIW post, is completely self explanatory once you get a glimpse of the outfit.

I bought the dress (and one other dress that if you follow me on twitter you may have already got a glimpse of) I'm wearing from ModCloth because I want to try and branch out of the normal "go to" styles I'm comfortable in but I decided to style it as a skirt because though I'm trying to break out of my "clothing comfort zone" this year I'm still not super comfy in a lot of different styles. Mostly things that I can't wear a good bra with. This little number is more of a strapless bra type dress because it has thin straps.

(PS - here is the link to the dress if you want to see it - Drive In Darling Dress

Anywho, here are the photos!

Here are the kitties (three of the four) watching the photos being taken. Yes there is a screen there! I think they love the shirt.

This is me after I made an awful face and pretty much stuck out my gut...for some reason that's what I tend to do when I am ready to stop taking photos...I need to come up with a better "we're done now" sign.

Me as a cat again. Apparently I am all about this pose. Which...is kind of a quirky/odd pose but...I am what I am!! Odd...not a cat.

Wears from Head to Toe -

Dress *Restyled* - Modcloth
Shirt - Hot Topic -
I bought this probably 3 years ago when I saw it on clearance online!
Belt - thrifted
Shoes - UrbanOG
Tights - Target
Earrings - World Market

I would also like to say, I bought this shirt a lot time ago, and honestly until the last year I didn't wear it much. I used to really care about what people thought and how people viewed me. So wearing such a "silly" shirt even though I loved it made me feel uncomfortable. I just didn't want to be seen.

I'm happy to say that in the last year or so I'm slowly but surely overcoming that. I wear what I want no matter what people may be whispering about it. I am me...and I love kittens and wizards.
*I also love really tall shoes...which in Jacksonville, FL...apparently they are like a unicorn sighting. *

If you made it this far, thanks for reading, and PS I hope you guys had a fabulous weekend.

Fabulous Friday Finds - Hey 2012 - You've got some fancy finds!

Whew! It's Friday...I've been at work for 3 days this week...and it feels like I've been working for 7 days.

Man getting back into the work routine is TOUGH!!

Which reminds me...I started a new series yesterday, in case you missed it, It's a Love/Hate Thing.

Any big plans for the weekend? As far as I know I will be staying close to home, except for my visits to take care of Griffin and Bella, who I'm pet sitting until Sunday evening.

I have a TON of photos to edit and measurements to take for items that need to be added to the shop -

I found the most adorable collegiate vintage cardigan and I am debating on keeping it for myself or sharing the cardi-love and listing it!

Okay time for some fancy finds!

Whimsical Owl Art wall hanging via artistJP - This is absolutely gorgeous. The colors are insanely vivid and he has the most gorgeous eyes! Seriously...I can see this on my wall...it would be pretty perfect.

Archery Bow Necklace via MisoPretty - I love this so much! As a avid fan of Percy Jackson and mythology, the minute I saw this, I thought of Athena. It's simple yet intricate and I am slightly obsessed with it.

I Lied decorative pillow via mybeardedpigeon - Not only is it cute as all get out...It's true.

Glass Tea Pot with infuser via Fab.com - I'm not a huge tea drinker but when this beauty came through my daily Fab.com email I wanted to drink tea ASAP. One of the tea pots that are in the sale has already sold out but there are still a handful left of other designs...Have I mentioned I'm glad it's pay day? : )

Vintage Titanic Pillow via VintageStyleHome - I am a huge fan of the color of this pillow. The faded vintage feel is breathtaking and it would be a perfect pillow for so many couches because of the color scheme. Especially MY forest green colored couch. Yep...it would be perfect.

Ugh, so many amazing finds this week, I think I need to get at least a couple of them...but I also need to put some money into my HOA jar. Being a grown up is LAME!!! Maybe I can sneak one...

Talk to you soon!

Oh and come find me on Twitter if you want to chit chat!

It's a Love/Hate Thing - #1

So yesterday I found myself thinking a lot about things I love but also how much I dislike aka hate them in their own way. When I say yesterday, I mean it was 12 am, and I was lying in bed thinking of the copious amounts of possible love/hate scenarios flying through my head. I couldn't go to sleep without jotting down just a handful that popped into my head during the day.

Then I thought, maybe I'm not the only one, maybe I should make a little series out of it on the blog.

So that's how that idea was birthed.

What better week to launch a new series than the first week in the new year!

Let me know what you think and PLEASE share your opinions on the love/hates!!

  *****************************

*Love*

I love cats, I love cats more than anything, except of course for my other half.

*Hate*

I HATE cat litter. I hate changing it. I hate the smell of it. I hate how heavy it is. I hate everything about it.

*Love*

I love a good clean face, free of make up, dirt, a hard day, sweat, anything that could make a face feel icky.

via bing

*Hate*

I HATE cleaning/washing my face!! That last thing I feel like doing at the end or beginning of the day is wash my face. I have no idea why. It feels like such an inconvenience to me. Maybe it's because my sink is too low and I feel like I'm going to end up IN my sink if I have to bend over any more.

 *Love*

I love my laptop, I love how easy it is to bring places, and how it fits nice and snug in a messenger bag.

*Hate*

I hate having to make sure it's charged and how if it dies how it feels like my world is going to end. Seriously, it shouldn't be so difficult to keep a piece of electronic equipment charged but somehow at LEAST 3 times a week I completely forget to charge it.

Okay, so that's it I think for the first go around, I have SO many more!

I wonder if that's a good or a bad thing to have a love/hate relationship with so many things!

What's a big love/hate for you?

Random Wednesday #7

Hey lovelies!!

I am having a very difficult time getting back into the swing of things aka my normal routine life.

The holidays are always a double edged sword. It's amazing having so many days off but at the same time it gets me out of my work routine and throws me off! Even when it comes to blogging. During my "normal" work week I'm used to doing my posts at certain times of the day but when it changes I get all thrown off!

I know it'll all even back out in a few days or so.

Time for a dose of randomness!

Photos -

This is Trixie. This is Trixie getting comfy laying in my arms pretending to love me when she REALLY just wants to try and get a piece of the chinese food action! Look at those hungry eyes!! You'd think veggie fried rice and veggie soup wouldn't be appealing!

The life of a cat...I am green with envy every day!!

Yum. Fried ice cream from a mexican place my other half and I visit (more than we should)

Reason #1000 it is difficult to get anything done on the computer at home.

A skirt I thrifted a week or so ago...I LOVE the colors!

Random information -

* I think I'm getting sick. I am SO dizzy for some reason and I think (crossing my fingers) it's because I am getting all congested in my head. Blah.

* I am excited to send off a couple of my dresses to two fabulous ladies to see how they style them!
* Chantilly and * Amber
PS - I mailed them today!

* We rearranged our dining room on New Years Day and I LOVE it. Before it didn't seem right. The builder did an awful job with the layout of the house so there wasn't a designated area for the dining room. I think we have it figured out now...I will take photos!!

How are you adjusting to getting back to a normal schedule after the holidays?

Talk to you soon!

What I Wore - *Yay Capes!*

So in all honesty, this is not an outfit that I wore within the last week, but it WAS recent.

The last three days I've been wearing pajamas and other assorted "I need to leave the house I should change out of my pajamas" ensembles. Plus my other half has been working so he hasn't been able to document any of the carefully chosen pajama ensembles.

Anywho, away we go with the wears!

I have no idea why it looks like I don't have a chin in this photo...I'm almost positive I do in fact have a chin (or two depending on the angle of the photo!)

Wears Head to Toe -

Dress - Eshakti
Cape/Jacket/Coat - Belk
Tights - Target
Shoes - UrbanOG

Please tell me I'm not the ONLY one that has stayed in PJ's for the majority of the weekend!!

Oh and PS -
If you follow me on Twitter you may have seen this gem of a photo. This is my "Morning of New Years Day bed head, no make up, and I wanna wear a onesie" look. This is also how I spent most of my day.
