What I Wore - *Lovin' Red* (and a peek at my thrifting scores!)

Hey everyone!!

Before I forget I'm on instagram now!! I got myself a very cheap 3G iPhone and I'm finally getting used to it. I'm SewSavoirFaire on instagram!

I took advantage of my other half being off on Sunday and we went out and about on a little thrifting adventure. (He loathes it...but puts up with it because I love it.)

I also listed a couple items in the shop, one being the ascot dress I mentioned on Friday, I have to hold off listing too many things at once!

So before I get to the outfit photos I wanted to share all the fabulous clothing items while we were out thrift shopping.

Skirts GALORE!! The lady at the counter was like - "So you're not afraid of color are you" - Duh! 4 skirts, 2 dresses, and that AMAZING crocheted cardigan that still had the tags & I got it for 5 bucks!!

I swooned for real when I found this vintage nightgown. It screams Sandra Dee <3 I just wonder if I should keep it or list it! I may just keep it hanging in the window because it's soooo pretty!

Okay, now to share the actual outfit post!

This is one of my favorite dresses from Eshakti it was actually on one of my past Friday Finds I eventually made it mine! The hearts are so fun and a red and black color combo is always fun. I had forgotten about this set of photos (they were only taken about 2 weeks ago) until I was making my new banner! This one almost slipped through the cracks.

Wears Head to Toe -

Cardigan - Target (I've had it for years!)
Glasses - ZenniOptical
Dress - EShakti (the bow is part of the dress not a belt!)

*Make sure to stop by tomorrow to see the NON-clothing thrift finds from the weekend AND if you were ever curious what my closet looks like...I'll be posting photos of it tomorrow...because it will give me a reason to get it organized : )*

If you have an instagram let me know what it is so I can follow!

Talk to you soon!

Hey Lovelies! Friday Finds is here!!

I am ALWAYS excited to find and share my weekly finds with you all but I am more excited when it's pay day Friday. Sadly, that is not today, and there is one find in particular that I NEED but will have to wait one whole week to make it mine. All mine!! (Don't worry you can make it yours too...*hint* it's a print!)

Okay, so, what are your plans this weekend? I plan on living vicariously through you so really I'd love to know!
I'll be home for the most part. (Hello home body!) Plus, I have photos to take of some clothing I recently acquired for GPV (hint one is a uber cute ascot navy dress...*I wish it fit me!*)
Okay, without further adieu, it's finds time!

My Heart Belongs to my Cat print via flapperdoodle - Do I really need words to explain how perfectly amazing this is?? And it is an 8x10 size which is perfect! PS - if you haven't guessed it, this is the find I mentioned up there in the first paragraph!)

Unicorn/Narwhal TEAM MAGIC shirt via theboldbanana - This shirt is too friggin' adorable. Look at that magical team! I would wear this far more often than acceptable I think.

Kitty Cat Night Light Polaroid via jerseymaids - This is one of the neatest things I've seen. Not just because it's a kitten. But jerseymaids makes night lights out of polaroid photos!!! You can see the dark and light version on the Etsy site and there are SO many more to choose from!!

Desk Organizer Zen Garden via KarolinfelixDream - There are more angles of this little gem on Etsy but I like the aerial view. What a earthy and different way to organize your desk! I really love the simplicity of the wood design.

Teddy Bear brooch via BeautySpot - I am smitten with the colors in this brooch not to mention the teddy bear is so darn cute!! <3 His pink little belly is adorable!

Whew! That's it for this week! See anything you like? Any great finds for you this week? If you do a Friday Finds-type post leave the link...I'd love to see it!

Talk to you soon!

Random Wednesday #8 - Thrifting Scores, Kitties, and Clothes!

Howdy folks! (I went country on you there for a sec...I do live in Florida after all)

How has your week been treating you? Mine has been crazy! I've been an emotional roller coaster this week.

I've also been trying to track down an affordable cheap unlocked iPhone because my phone now is about to crap out on me and the cost to upgrade is CRAZY! I thought I had one ready to pick up here in Jacksonville, I ordered a case and charger, then that fell through. Booooo! So I'm on the hunt again.

But I have managed to take a ton of photos this past week.

It's Random Photo Time! -
(*disclaimer - the quality of these photos are awful due to the fact they are from my cellphone)

This is Trixie and this is Trixie thinking that it's a great idea to climb on my back when I was at my desk. Scale, climb, whatever painful word you could put there seeing as she has nails that need trimming!

This is Trixie and Penelope and my heart just melted when I woke up for work Monday morning to very warm legs. I grabbed my phone and blinded myself since it was dark and the flash is seriously bright...but I aimed it correctly because these were the furry felines keeping me warm. They're sleeping between my leg and my other half's leg.

This is me, yesterday, at work. I was so upset that I wasn't able to get photos of this outfit. If you follow me on Twitter you may have seen this but I was kinda obsessed with wearing blue yesterday. You can't see my shoes but they were even speckled with some blue flowers.

My other half and I went out looking for a place to have dinner and we stumbled across a store ever so simply named - The Thrift Shoppe - they closed in 15 minutes but I ran through just to see what I could find. Well...I found this beauty!! Three World Traveler suitcases circa 1970!!! Can you see the little price tag?? 10 bucks people!! I may or may not sell them in the shop, I will more than likely keep them all for myself, because I'm that greedy : )

Lastly, the worst quality photo of them all, this Griffin. The giant house cat. He is one of the two cats that I pet sit for on a regular basis. His sister is Bella but she isn't in this photo...obviously. Griffin is amazing. He's huge, heavy, diabetic (I have to give him shots of insulin before I feed him), and the SWEETEST cat you could ever meet. I love him <3

Geez...almost ALL of these photos have cats in them! I think I need a support group for Crazy Cat Ladies.

Oh and I made a new banner, my old one had photos of me with black hair, so I thought I could at least update it with some current photos and course some pictures of kittens.

Any random happenings in your neck of the woods this past week?

Stop by tomorrow for the 2nd Edition of Love/Hate Thursdays!!

Fabulous Friday Finds - Hey 2012 - You've got some fancy finds!

Whew! It's Friday...I've been at work for 3 days this week...and it feels like I've been working for 7 days.

Man getting back into the work routine is TOUGH!!

Which reminds me...I started a new series yesterday, in case you missed it, It's a Love/Hate Thing.

Any big plans for the weekend? As far as I know I will be staying close to home, except for my visits to take care of Griffin and Bella, who I'm pet sitting until Sunday evening.

I have a TON of photos to edit and measurements to take for items that need to be added to the shop -

I found the most adorable collegiate vintage cardigan and I am debating on keeping it for myself or sharing the cardi-love and listing it!

Okay time for some fancy finds!

Whimsical Owl Art wall hanging via artistJP - This is absolutely gorgeous. The colors are insanely vivid and he has the most gorgeous eyes! Seriously...I can see this on my wall...it would be pretty perfect.

Archery Bow Necklace via MisoPretty - I love this so much! As a avid fan of Percy Jackson and mythology, the minute I saw this, I thought of Athena. It's simple yet intricate and I am slightly obsessed with it.

I Lied decorative pillow via mybeardedpigeon - Not only is it cute as all get out...It's true.

Glass Tea Pot with infuser via Fab.com - I'm not a huge tea drinker but when this beauty came through my daily Fab.com email I wanted to drink tea ASAP. One of the tea pots that are in the sale has already sold out but there are still a handful left of other designs...Have I mentioned I'm glad it's pay day? : )

Vintage Titanic Pillow via VintageStyleHome - I am a huge fan of the color of this pillow. The faded vintage feel is breathtaking and it would be a perfect pillow for so many couches because of the color scheme. Especially MY forest green colored couch. Yep...it would be perfect.

Ugh, so many amazing finds this week, I think I need to get at least a couple of them...but I also need to put some money into my HOA jar. Being a grown up is LAME!!! Maybe I can sneak one...

Talk to you soon!

Oh and come find me on Twitter if you want to chit chat!

Random Wednesday #5 - Bleach, cats, and Missoni!

Hey everyone! It's time for another round of random!

(Don't worry, the bleach and the cats are not in the same photo!)

Though a lot of the time I feel like my days in general are pretty darn random. But that's okay...I'm 100% okay with that! Are your days really structured and planned out? Even when I try it doesn't always work out like that. Especially at work...I can't plan anything because something pressing always comes up and needs attention!

Okay, sorry, I'm rambling!

Photo time -

Me at the salon last weekend getting the last major portion of black and brown roots out of my hair! Not gonna lie...it was an uncute look but I had fun with the yellow roots)

In case you can't see it - that's a sequined poinsettia in my hair - yep.

This is my other half, and this is Trixie, and this is how she sleeps. She climbs up on me or Mark when we go to bed and usually we wake up like this too.

This is such an awful photo, because all my random photos are taken with my phone, but this is my fancy and fabulous new Missoni bike! Eeeek! My other half bought it for me for Christmas.

Lastly, this is Puss in Boots, and he is my tried and true diving companion. Command Strips work pretty perfect for adhering a plastic Puss in Boots to your car dashboard.

Random Facts -

Georgia Peach Vintage is open for business AND I made a fancy coupon code to celebrate the opening. VINTAGELOVE will getcha 10% off. Little by little I'm adding items. I try to add 2-3 each day. I ordered some business cards too but I won't keep talking about the shop. I'll share them another time!

Eshakti is offering 50% off discount cards!! Seeing as I've never gotten a bad dress from them I had to get one. So for $50 bucks you can get a $100 gift card!

* I'm STILL not finished shopping for Christmas gifts!! Ahhhh!

* Who watched the season finale of Dexter? I don't want to spoil it SO please feel free to tweet me or email me if you want to talk about the craziness of it!

Please tell me I'm not the only one that hasn't finished Christmas shopping! Do you have any left to do?

PS - Congratulations to Chantilly for reaching her Kickstarter goal! You deserve it and so so much more!

What I Wore - *Romwe shorty shorty short dress!*

Man oh man! This weekend just flew by. More so than usual. Probably because it was a pretty busy one for me. I had my hair appointment Saturday (and if you follow me on Twitter you saw the insane bleaching my hair went through.) I'm happy to report that I finally got rid of all most of the black pieces!

Also, Sunday was the first official day that my fancy new vintage shop opened! I only have a few things listed now but will be adding more in the coming days! Woo hoo!

How was your weekend?

------------------------------------------------------------

Now to explain the title of this WIW post. I bought a dress for the first time on Romwe over the Thanksgiving holiday after seeing it on Miki's blog. I just HAD to have it. Well I got it on Saturday and it is just so darn cute but SOOOO darn short! I'm glad I'm only 5'3 because otherwise it may have been slightly obscene.

Oh! Make sure to stop by Miki's blog to see how she styled the dress!

There is ZERO good explanation for this photo. I may be pretending to be a baby tiger or a kitten. I mean who knows...(take note of that amazing mood ring!)

Wears from Head to Toe -

Glasses - Zenni Optical
Brooch - For Sale at Georgia Peach Vintage - This is one of my favorite brooch finds! <3
Mood Ring - Overboard Antiques - I haven't taken it off since I got it!
Dress - Romwe
Tights - gift from my boss from well over a year ago
Shoes - UrbanOG

Whew! That's it!

Do you have any dresses that just barely stay on the "I'm comfortable wearing this in public" line?

Talk to you soon!

Random Wednesday #4 - Bieber, cats, and brooches oh my!

Whew! Today is a big day at work!

It's our annual cookie function. The legal department I work in hosts a cookie meet and greet of sorts. Where the entire building can come and grab all sorts of different types of cookies that the we supply either homemade or purchased. That way people can put faces to names in the legal department.

I received my bounty of Eshakti dresses that I ordered during Black Friday yesterday and I'm SO excited because now I have a perfect dress to wear for the Christmas Cookie gathering!

I will share the ensemble on Monday's WIW post! Assuming I don't look like a hot cookie mess after work!

Commencing Randomness -
* Keep in mind these are all taken with my cell so the quality is lacking!*

Why this seemed like a comfortable way to lay down I have no idea but how friggin' cute is it??

Ooooh! I'm still having a hard time wanting to list these in the shop because I LOVE these vintage enamel brooches. It's hard to tell from the photo but the top brooch is a little llama AND it's pink. So cute!

Well look who popped up on the shopping trip my mom and I took last weekend. I refuse to believe that little baby Bieber is taller than me. I don't know why but I feel like he's super tiny.
PS - my dress is from Tulle4Us - Boots from UrbanOG Belt - Thrifted - Tights and purse - Target

So during the shopping trip where we hung out with the Biebs my mom got me an early Christmas gift...this AMAZING cape. I <3 that bow.
(If you follow me on Twitter you've seen this photo already!)

In other random news -

- I can't get enough of Once Upon A Time and I am heartbroken that there won't be new episodes for the rest of December.

- Trixie and Penelope (as seen in the first photo above) have joined kitty forces to destroy the Christmas tree. Only the top half is still intact. Little Christmas Scrooges they are!

- It's nearly impossible for me to take photos of the dresses for the shop once I get home from work because it's already too dark and that annoys the heck out of me. It only leaves me the weekend!

I could go on but seriously...if you've made it this far I am extremely impressed and thanks for reading all of this mumbo jumbo!

Talk to you soon!

What I Wore - *Purple People Eater*

You're probably wondering about the title of the outfit post. I couldn't help but think of the name once I got dressed. In the photos it's hard to see but my tights are purple, my belt is pseudo-suede purple, and of course my dress is covered in purple too!

Either way...I LOVE it! : ) Bring on the purple people eater ensemble!

I fell in love with this checkerboard print when I saw it on Tulle4Us during their big pre-Black Friday sale. I had never ordered from the site before so choosing a size was somewhat tricky. Unfortunately it's a bit big BUT I tried to make it work. I just LOVE the back of the dress!

Wears from Head to Toe -

Dress - Tulle4Us (Woo hoo to Black Friday sales!)
Belt - Thrifted
Tights - Target
Shoes - DSW (Such OLD shoes but always great for simple black heels)

Oh and in weekend news. I FINALLY finished...well almost finished...taking all the photos of the items for Georgia Peach Vintage! I'm hoping that by this time next week the shop will be open!

How was your weekend?
