Mani Monday - Aly's Dream Polish Review - Cherry Coke
Monday, November 4, 2013
Hey everyone!
How was your weekend?
I stayed close to home (not that that's much different than any other weekend) because I've been pet sitting for the last week. My buddies Griffin and Bella are my two fave cats...well two favorite that aren't mine! If you've followed the blog for awhile you've heard about them before!
Did the time change throw you off at all? It's such a double-edged sword this whole fall back bit. I love that's it's light outside when I leave for work but loathe that it gets dark so early!!
**********************
So today I have an AMAZING polish to share with you. Have you heard of Aly's Dream Polish before? Aly has some of the most divine holo polishes and the bottles are my favorite shape of polish bottle! The formula is easy to work with and the colors are so rich and vivid.
This won't be the last review of an Aly's that you see!!
Today I have Cherry Coke to share with you. Take a look-see!
Helloooo gorgeous. It's such a unique color. It's not red, or purple, or brown...it's a beautiful mesh of the three depending on the lighting.
Bottle shot!
One of my favorite macros so far. This gives you a look at the gold holo that really shines in the sun. Stunning.
There's so much happening in this polish but it's so subtle and lovely.
Ugh. So pretty. I can't wait to share more of her polishes with you!
Aly's will be having a much anticipated pre-order on Wednesday in her shop.
If you want to get a look at some of what will be available when it opens - go to Pinterest and search Aly's Dream Polish. I have my list ready for Wednesday. Or just click that hyperlink - it'll take you straight to the search results.
Like her Facebook page to stay up to date on all the happenings!
Until next time!
**Make sure to stop by on Wednesday (yes 3 posts in one week this week!) to see What's In My Bag...and don't be alarmed when you see how much is in it.**
Things I Fancy Friday - My 300th Post! - Welcome to Fall Edition
Friday, November 1, 2013
Happy November 1st!
Can you believe it? It seems like it was just March and I was just getting hitched...now I've been married for almost 8 months!
I thought I would share some fun and fabulous fall finds (yeah this post is perfect for alliterations) since today is day one of November and it's starting to feel like fall in Florida...starting to.
**************************************
Sadly I don't have a fireplace nor do I need one really in Florida but this is ADORABLE...and now my guiding force in having a fireplace in my life.
My current favorite fall lipstick - Maybelline Blissful Berry - and these are SO smooth!
Are you kidding me with how gorgeous this wingback chair is?? Ugh. Love. I shake my fist at you Anthropologie for being so expensive!
Every stinkin' thing about this outfit...I wish I looked better in pants because I would wear the heck out of this.
This is SUCH a cute and yummy "candy corn" alternative snack. And SO easy too!
**************************************
Are you feeling in the fall mood yet? When does it REALLY start to feel like fall to you?
I wore booties with my witch costume for Halloween yesterday and my feet were burning up because it's still in the 80's...luckily the evenings and mornings cool down enough to open the windows for a short while.
See you Monday!
Mani Monday - SinfulShine - Mirror, Mirror
Monday, October 28, 2013
Good morning or afternoon/evening...whenever you pop in to see the goods here.
It's Monday so that means I will soon be en route to Orlando for work. And just as I anticipated I already miss my hubby and my five fancy felines. Here's hoping times flies the next day or so...
*****************************************
Let's get moving to something fabulous and vampy for the Halloween week.
I have Mirror, Mirror from the SinfulShine collection by Sinful Colors. You can snag this online (ebay/amazon) but you'll pay a little more for it. My advice is to stop by a Walgreens or two to see if they have it in stock. It's hit or miss.
SinfulShine differs from the regular Sinful Colors line of polish because it has Gel Tech technology giving a a crazy pretty shine right off the bat...no top coat needed...unless you're like me and can't NOT put on a top coat.
It's photo time.
Rich...rich...rich. This has so much depth of color to it.
What you see in the bottle is pretty spot on to what ends up on your nail which is nice because that's not always the case with polish.
Blurry mirror...whoops.
You can see in these two photos how dark the polish can appear depending on the lighting. It goes from a rich burgundy to a show stopper blood red burgundy.
Two macros of this beauty to show a close up shot of both variations of color. The dark red burgundy and the lighter burgundy.

Whew! Now I just want to put this polish back on...I think I will this week :)
If I don't talk to you on Wednesday I will for sure be back on Friday with a Things I Fancy post!
Things I Fancy Friday - MAC dupes, NYX, satchels, and hats! Oh My!
Friday, October 25, 2013
It's that time again...Friday is upon us...finally.
It's a bitter sweet day though because that means the weekend is here and while that sounds great...I have to go out of town for work Monday and Tuesday...and I'm going to miss home. Home is where I "recoup" from the stresses of daily life and recharge. Being away from home, my husband, and my fancy felines is not my idea of a good time. So here's hoping I can get back to my home aka my heart in a jiff!
Onward to the things that I'm fancying...

NYX Matte Lipstick.
Hands down one of my fave brands. The stunner on the right is Perfect Red (not to be confused with Pure Red) and on the left Bloody Mary. They are BOGO half off at Ulta right now AND there is a 20% off coupon available too! If you didn't receive it in your email leave me a comment and let me know...I will email it to you...I believe it was only shared via email!

This classic and fabulous satchel from Target. It's Merona brand...FYI...if you don't already have the Cartwheel app get it! I plan on scooping this baby up today because there is a coupon on Cartwheel for an additional 25% off Merona handbags! It comes in a few colors too!
This chic traveler hat...I need it...it's true. It comes in three colors AND it's less than 15 bucks!
WHAT??? This is amazing. I need to do this ASAP. The pinned image gives you the cliff notes of how to make it but the actual source has a video.
More lipstick? Yep. I find this extremely helpful. There are other versions of this all over pinterest but I'm sharing this one since it has 3 different price points. Russian Red has been the red I'm longing for but I don't want to spend 15 bucks on it...anyone have any experience with either of the two dupes? What do you think?
***************************************
I'll have you know while writing this...I totally bought lipstick. What can I say...I'm addicted to rouge.
What's your go to lip color? I'm all about red. Red or plum are my favorite.
Man...I want some inside out caramel apples.
I hope you have a great weekend...and even though I'll be out of town Monday stop by because I will have a fabulous vampy mani to share with you!
Mani Monday - Holo Deck by Gothic Gala - Geordi and The Enterprise
Monday, October 21, 2013
Hey guys!
First I want to give a shout out (I don't think I'm hip enough to use the phrase shout out but here it goes) to my husband for winning his poster session in the poster segment of the seminar in Gainesville over the weekend! You did such a great job babe!
PS - I was in Gainesville all weekend.
***************************************
Today I cannot wait to share with you the goods from from Gothic Gala.
I have two of the five colors from her Holo Deck Collection that is inspired by the one and only Star Trek.
They are divine...I'm still wearing one of them now!
I also want to share her super cute packaging! It was so exciting opening my goodies from Gothic Gala because of how she so carefully packs her orders.
Ready? Let's begin....
You guys...the polish is in a bed of confetti fun. Enough said. Oh she also includes a handmade lollipop with each other BUT...yeah I ate that.
***************************************
First up on deck...Geordi.
Geordi has the beautiful shimmer and is the PERFECT yellow for fall. It's a creme but with the shimmer it gives it a lot more flare than with your run of the mill yellow. Application was easy peasy and I wore it for 2 days without any tip wear or chipping.

It is such a dynamic shade of yellow that has a little bit of an orange hue to it so it's not straight up yellow.
See that shimmer? My camera was being a troublemaker as it was having a hard time capturing said shimmer. You see the more orange leaning hue here.
And the more yellow leaning hue here. Both of which are fabulous.
Ooooh...sparkles.
As you can see it's a subtle...not in your face shimmer. They look more like they're a part of the base polish rather than added TO the polish which is nice.
No bottle shot as I forgot to take the photo...whoops. So just use your imagination!
***************************************
Last but not least on deck...The Enterprise.
The Enterprise is a beautiful shade of grey. I have a lot of grey polish but if I had to choose one to keep it would be this one. It's shiny and has a lot of character not like your average grey. It's a holographic polish with little bits of blue flecks to really pump up the volume on it. This is the one I'm still wearing...and I love it.
I blurred this one purposely...believe it or not..so you could see the pretty holo that covers the nail.
Swoon city...do you see all that lovely blue? It really adds a lot but doesn't take away from the grey in the slightest.
Here is a darker version...inside the polish is obviously a little darker than when you're in direct light like the above. It's SO gorgeous!
Bottle shots - you can see the gorgeous holo AND the blue flecks of color.
This is my favorite shot...this is REALLY what it looks like. Do you see how the blue flecks really give it a special look in addition to the holo? Ugh...I love it. The sparkle makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.
Aren't they just fabulous? I also want to point out how much I LOVE the bottles Gothic Gala uses...they are my favorite shape.
***************************************
In conclusion -
Whether your're a fan of Star Trek or a fan of fabulous polish you must go and pick up at least one!
There are three other gorgeous polishes available in addition to these - There is a blue (Crusher), Red (Picard...duh), and lastly a green (It's Green, Sir)
Check out her shop and stay up to date on sales and new colors by "liking" the oh so informative FB page
A little birdie told me there is a sale going on...to get the code make sure you click the link above to the FB page! As a matter of fact...I may need to snag a couple more to add to my set!
