It's Package Pals People!! *Photo heavy*

Today was going to be the second installment of the Random Wednesday BUT then I realized what day it was!
Let me explain.
The lovely Gentri dreamt up this amazing idea after an impromptu care package exchange with a bloggy friend of hers ALL the way in Germany.
Everyone who wanted to partake in Package Pals let Gentri know and then shortly thereafter we received an oh so exciting email letting each of us know who we were paired up with and where in the world they lived.
Well. Let me start off by saying I feel so lucky to have been connected with the amazing Laura for this care package journey. Laura lives ALL the way in Australia! How exciting is that? Well it's exciting for me anyway (and not just because Hugh Jackman and Ryan Kwanten are from Australia.) I've always wanted to visit Australia but let's face it, traveling anywhere outside my zip code isn't in the cards any time soon, unless said cards are made of $100 bills, and they SO are not! :p
Laura and I have so much in common it's scary! Gentri did such a bang up job matching us up. I won't go into all the similarities because my guess is it wouldn't be nearly as interesting to everyone else!
So here are some photos of our package contents.
Florida to Australia -
I found the most interesting handmade wrapping paper at World Market and just had to get it to wrap the items in! The design and colors were so pretty.
Laura had a special candy request of Hershey's and Reeses, seeing as it was October, I had to include a Halloween themed set of Reeses too!
I was hoping the timing would work out perfectly (which it pretty much did) for Laura to get her package around her birthday. Hence the Scorpio necklace. This was part of the "birthday" portion of her package. As you can see in the second photo John Krazinski went along for the ride to Australia to say Happy Birthday to Laura :p
Of course there is the quintessential tourist items. Heck...I really like the coffee mug...and after 15 years here I am SO not a tourist. PS - per Laura's info Australia is ALSO called The Sunshine State
The package would NOT be complete without some Mortal Instrument books. I rave about this series and I was glad Laura hadn't read it yet so I could be the one to send her a couple of the books! If you are familiar with always intriguing Kate you will probably recognize her work in the photo. I wanted to include one of her bookmarks because both Laura and I are animal lovers!
Speaking of animals. Trixie just could NOT be left out of the traveling fun.
She even tried to send herself to Australia apparently. Naughty little minx she is.
Australia to Florida -
I was SO excited to receive Laura's package. Look at all the goodies! Jewelry, chocolate, a book, AND a cowl and then some!
I loved the card she sent with the package. It's on my fridge now. I smile every time I see it. (Not just because it's on the fridge and I keep the chocolate she sent me in there too!) :p
Have you ever seen such cute chocolate?! I almost didn't want to eat it...but that poor Bandicoot didn't last long. The only animals I am willing to eat as a vegetarian :p
Speaking of refrigerators, this absolutely adorable magnet, has prime real estate on the fridge!
Seriously...yum. The package is NOT lying. They are irresistible.
Laura sent me the cutest jewelry. I had fancy new earrings and bangles!
I haven't ever read the Princess Bride, I've only seen the movie, since it happens to be Laura's favorite book she decided to send it to me. I'm so excited to read it.
Lastly, it looks like Trixie wasn't the only little critter to partake in packing the packages, it seems Nilly had a paw or two in mine too! : )
Whew! See...photo heavy! Did you make it all the down to the end?
I hope Gentri decides to do the Package Pals Extravaganza again because I will definitely be signing up.
Would you be interested in joining in on the fun if she decided on putting it together again?
PS - Make sure to stop by Laura's blog so you can see her version of the Package Pals fun!
Talk to you soon!
What I Wore - *Oxfords, Peacock Blue, & Flowers...and me falling*

Happy Monday Lovelies!
How was your weekend? My Saturday was spent thrifting and watching a Vampire Diaries marathon with a girlfriend of mine. Sunday was spent catching up on DVR'd shows and movies. Has anyone seen It's Kind of a Funny Story? It's really a great movie! I wasn't sure what to expect when I recorded it but I was very pleasantly surprised by it. I highly recommend it!
Sooooo....yeah I spent a lot of time in front of the television.
So I want to share with you one of my absolute FAVORITE dresses. I got this beauty from SpeedyGirl awhile back and I'm so glad that I did. I've worn it with neutral tights (black/brown) and then like you'll see today I was wearing it with a fun pop of color. Have you ever purchased a dress from SpeedyGirl before? Which one did you buy?
Time for the wears...and photos of me falling. Yep.
I do love my oxfords <3
Getting my jump on...what a lovely facial expression too.
Then falling because jumping on a surface that isn't flat usually doesn't pan out so well.
No rips in the tights...so that's always a plus.
Back from the fall...A OK!
Love love the the collar and sleeves on this dress!
Wears from Head to Toe -
Glasses - Zenni Optical
Earrings - from my mama
Dress - ShopSpeedyGirl
Belt - thrifted
Tights - Target

That's all folks!
PS - let's all say thank you to my other half for deciding to take pictures of me busting my rear ever so gracefully - because every girl just loves getting pictures taken of herself falling on the ground! Such a sweetie he is :p

Wahoooo! Fabulous Friday Finds is here!
Friday, November 11, 2011
Please excuse my excitement. This really is my favorite bloggy day because I love sharing things that piqued my interest during the week. And considering how much "window shopping" I do on a daily basis it's amazing I can get it down to just a few items!
First though...how was your week? Our weather here in Florida is finally starting to act like fall and get cool. The high today is going to be in the low 60's and it's absolutely gorgeous outside too which is nice since it's been pretty cloudy and grey (gray?) the last few days.
Any big plans this weekend? None for me so far. I will be hitting up some local thrift stores to see if I can find anything that I must have but don't need! : )
Finds Time!!
Cat Brooch via TevaGallery - So so cute! I think this beauty will make it's way into my hands soon!
Wednesday Addams Market Dress via Eshakti - Love the fall color scheme and the collar on this gem. The detail around the bottom of the skirt is so fun!
Embellished Hearts dress via Eshakti - I could NOT decide on one dress from this website. It's amazing that I could narrow it down to two! This dress is calling my name (more like screaming) there is also a large heart on the shoulder blade portion of the dress which I love. So cute!
Vintage Jade Glazed Tea Set via OopsyGirl - This tea set is so gorgeous! I'm not a huge tea drinker but I feel like I would have to change my mind if I owned this beauty!
Colour Block Satchel via UrbanOG - This bag comes in three color combinations! I love a bag that can be worn multiple ways, especially cross-body, and the wooden handle give it that something special look. What a great fall bag!
Did you see anything you loved? I couldn't choose which is my favorite, which seems to be a common problem in FFF, I can't help it! (I'm so going to buy a cat brooch before the weekend has come to an end!)
PS - all opinions on these items are mine alone!
A Random (and slighty embarassing) Wednesday! Enjoy!
Wednesday, November 9, 2011
Hey lovelies! Sorry I went MIA yesterday. I was going to post these yesterday but time got away from me like it can so easily do and POOF Tuesday was over!
So I figured what better day to share some random photos and happenings with you then smack dab in the middle of the week. Right?
Before I get to that I wanted to share a little swap that I'm sure will be a fabulous time!
I will be participating in Dolce Vita's Ornament Swap!
If you want to jump on in the holiday fun go over and sign up! The last day to sign up is the 11th! I can't wait...what a fun way to ring in the holiday season.
Okay so next up. The photo that I may regret posting but I just can't help myself.
I want to share with you why it can take a VERY long time for me to get ready in the morning.
The culprit is none other than Lil' Trixie. She insists on sitting on my lap when I'm putting on my make up which can be somewhat trying especially if she's taking forever to get comfy.
Other fun facts from the photo -
I use my medicine cabinet to hang long necklaces
Yes, I wear a Jonas Brothers tshirt to bed
I keep my glasses on a vase on the counter for easy access
I use Psssst! dry shampoo
I have a sparkley phone <3
And....I sit on the counter to do my make up!
And OMG I can't believe everyone is seeing me in my just out of the shower towel head.
Next up...
My other half and I were shopping at Walmart over the weekend and I couldn't help but notice these cupcakes and say...Are you serious Bieber?? So odd.
Lastly some random cat photos from the past few days.
Awww...kitty sisters!
You can't tell but she's curled up in the blanket that's on my lap. <3
Charlie girl likes to use my arm as a pillow.
That's it! So did you enjoy the randomness of today's post? Should I continue it as a series? I'd love to know what you think?
What I Wore - *Navy, Green, and Red!*
Monday, November 7, 2011
Okay. I didn't WEAR red per say. This is more of an update on my hair progress to go red! I haven't posted any super recent photos since my last hair appointment (round two of going from black to red) so I'd love to know what you guys think!
If you follow me on Twitter you may remember me mentioning that I was going to share what I wore to the fair on todays post! I was stumped on what to wear at first because the temperature is just starting to change but it still is in limbo between cool/cold and warm.
I decided to go with a trusty pair of navy tights and a skirt/cardigan combo. It was a success too! Perfect for the weather at the fair that evening.
You may wonder...why the heck am I wearing wedges when I'm going to be walking for hours...let me tell you!
We were going to see Little Big Town during our time at the fair and I knew if I had to stand I NEEDED some height. You learn that pretty quickly when you are barely 5'3...gotta be prepared.
Okay...enough words...photo time!
I may have been pseudo grass tap dancing -
Sayin' cheese!
"Now this is how I would take off if I could by chance fly"
I should work on my landing...
I have to share a few photos that show my absolute FAVORITE necklace! *Fan girl alert!*
I ordered this necklace from DreamAddict on Etsy because it's no secret I am obsessed with The Vampire Diairies.
