It 'Twas Time for a Hair Update and an Antiquing Find!

Hey everyone!

How was your weekend?

As most of you probably know by now...I am going red. No more black for me. It's been a fun 3 years with black hair but I'm ready to finally have the red that I've ALWAYS wanted.

Unfortunately....it's a MUCH longer process going red from black than I had anticipated.

I have a lot of hair. So my stylist says in order to lift the color evenly it needs to be done a little at a time because I'd be sitting with bleach on my hair for hours and hours if she tried to lift it all at once. Heck with what seemed like 100 foils on my head I was under the dryer for 45 minutes and it only lifted to a gold hue...and not evenly at all. The front of my hair was good to go...not so much the back of my hair.

Long story a little less long...this whole process is going to take about 6 months!! Little by little I'll go red. She's also trying to to shock the hell out of my hair and damage it TOO much.

So after the FIRST of many appointments this is the result -
(This is day two of the cut/color so my hair isn't too clean!)

It's lighter for sure and you can see the red in the light but man this is going to take awhile!

PS - Did you see the necklace? I LOVE it...I found it today while antiquing with my other half. It's embroidered...so fabulous!

Talk to you soon!

(Stop by tomorrow for the final installment of the Tour of Homes!

  2. Yeah.. suuuch a long process! But I'm sure it'll be worth it. :) :) That's a big reason why I didn't go ALL purple. I would have had to probably bleach my hair 3 times because it was so dark underneath. I just couldn't do it. I am jealous of your patience! :P

  5. Six months!? Wow. I wouldn't have guessed that, but then again, I know absolutely NOTHING about hair coloring. Best of luck. I'm sure it'll turn out awesome! :]
